Safety & Compliance Leadership:
Enforce strict adherence to all EHS, and molten metal handling safety procedures.
Conduct regular safety briefings, risk assessments, and manage all hot-zone work permits.
Manage emergency procedures, including response to furnace failures or metal spills.
Melt Process Management:
Supervise the full melting process, including raw material selection, weighing/charging.
Monitor and control furnace parameters to optimize efficiency and melt rate.
Coordinate with the Molding Department to ensure molten metal supply meets their schedule and demand requirements.
Schedule and oversee minor repairs, refractory maintenance, and ladle preparation/lining.
Quality and Metallurgical Control:
Ensure that all raw materials are correctly identified, segregated, and charged according to metallurgical formulas.
Perform or oversee in-process testing and interpret results.
Make necessary alloy additions or chemical adjustments to bring the metal chemistry into specification before tapping.
Maintain detailed shift logs, heat reports, and records of raw material consumption/
Team Leadership and Development:
Direct and train a team of furnace operators, ladle men, and helpers in standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Manage shift scheduling, attendance, and resolve day-to-day employee issues.
Conduct effective shift handovers to ensure continuous and informed operation
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
