Experience
15 Years (Transformer / Heavy Electrical Equipment Manufacturing)
JOB PURPOSE
Manage the assembly of wound coils onto the core, fitting of clamping structures and insulation barriers, and verification of electrical clearances and mechanical integrity of the active part prior to drying and tanking. Ensure assembly quality, cycle time, and safe handling of heavy active parts.
PROJECT PHASE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan assembly sequence and clamping-structure requirements for recent transformer designs with the design team.
• Design/specify jigs, fixtures, and lifting arrangements required for new core-coil configurations.
• Conduct first assembly trials for current designs and verify electrical clearances (phase-to-phase, phase-to-earth) and mechanical fit-up.
• Coordinate with Purchase/SCM for clamping hardware, insulation barriers, and pressboard components for new orders.
PRODUCTION PHASE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and monitor daily assembly schedules aligned with winding output and drying/tanking section pull.
• Supervise fitting of top/bottom yoke clamps, core clamping structures, and insulation barriers per drawing.
• Verify tightening torque values on clamping bolts/structures as per specification.
• Conduct in-process electrical clearance checks and mechanical alignment verification before handover.
• Coordinate crane/lifting operations for active part handling with trained riggers and supervisors.
• Manage rework/non-conformance closure for assembly-stage defects.
