Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced File Maker Pro Developer/Administrator with strong scripting capabilities in Python and Apple Script to design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in File Maker Server administration, File Maker integrations with third-party systems, and application support, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in Retail or Creative Marketing environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain custom File Maker Pro applications and databases to support business operations

- Administer and maintain File Maker Server, including performance monitoring, backups, security, and upgrades

- Build and manage integrations between File Maker and third-party systems (APIs, web services, ERP/CRM platforms, etc.)

- Write and maintain automation scripts using Python and Apple Script to streamline workflows and system processes

- Support, troubleshoot, and enhance business-critical File Maker applications used across departments

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions

- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all File Maker-based systems

- Document technical designs, workflows, and system configurations

- Provide ongoing maintenance, bug fixes, and performance optimization for existing applications

- Participate in testing, deployment, and post-deployment support of recent features/modules

Required Skills & Experience





- Proven hands-on experience in File Maker Pro development (custom app/database design and scripting)

- Strong experience with File Maker Server administration (installation, configuration, maintenance, security)

- Demonstrated experience building File Maker integrations with third-party systems

- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation

- Proficiency in Apple Script for macOS-based automation and system integration

- Experience supporting and maintaining business-critical applications in a production environment

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred / Desirable Skills

- Exposure to or experience working in Retail or Creative Marketing environments

- Familiarity with API-based integrations (REST/SOAP)

- Experience with macOS environments and Apple ecosystem tools

- Understanding of database design principles and data security best practices

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

- [X]+ years of relevant experience in File Maker development and administration (adjust based on seniority level)

- Strong communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and reliability of business applications
