Job Type: Full-time
Timings: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM IST, Monday to Friday
You must be available during U.S. business hours (mainly CST) and adjust your schedule when needed to support business operations, the India team and critical HR matters.
About Us
The Prime Developer is a US commercial real estate firm based in Austin, Texas. We develop, lease and manage retail and flex properties across Texas, working with franchise brands, local businesses and investors. We are building our team in India to support US operations during US business hours.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced HR leader to restructure and strengthen our India operations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role. You'll redesign team structures, introduce and enforce company policies, and build the HR systems a growing team needs, while running day-to-day HR operations. We need someone who has led organizational change before and can make it happen with clarity, fairness and minimal disruption.
Responsibilities
Restructuring and Organizational Design
- Assess the current organization, including roles, reporting lines, team structure, performance and costs, and recommend structural changes to leadership
- Plan and lead restructuring, including role redesign, team realignment, redeployment and, where needed, separations, in line with applicable law and handled with care
- Define clear job roles, responsibilities, reporting hierarchies and an organization chart for every function
- Manage change communication so employees understand what is changing, why, and how it affects them
Policies and Compliance
- Draft, introduce and enforce company policies,
including attendance, leave, night-shift, work-from-home, code of conduct, performance, disciplinary, travel and expenses, data security and exit
- Build and maintain the employee handbook and SOPs for all HR processes
- Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws and statutory requirements, including PF, ESI, gratuity, qualified tax, the Telangana Shops & Establishments Act, POSH, and night-shift rules for women employees
- Set up and run the POSH Internal Committee and related training
- Handle audits, statutory filings and inspections, and keep accurate records
HR Operations
- Own the full employee lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, confirmation, transfers and exits
- Maintain employee records, contracts, offer letters, appointment letters and personnel files, organized in shared drives (Google Drive, Dropbox)
- Coordinate payroll inputs, attendance, leave tracking and benefits administration with finance and payroll vendors
- Introduce and manage HR tools and systems (HRMS, attendance, payroll)
Performance, People and Culture
- Design and roll out a performance management framework with KPIs, reviews, appraisals and performance improvement plans (PIPs)
- Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary actions and investigations fairly and confidentially
- Build engagement, retention and training programs suited to a night-shift team supporting US operations
- Work with hiring managers on workforce planning, compensation benchmarking and recruitment
Leadership and Reporting
- Act as the main HR advisor to US leadership, and report regularly on headcount, attrition, costs, compliance and restructuring progress
- Coordinate with legal counsel, consultants and external vendors as needed
Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in HR or a related master's degree
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2–3 years in a senior or HR lead role
- Proven experience leading organizational restructuring and change management, from planning through communication and execution
- Track record of writing and putting in place HR policies, handbooks and SOPs from scratch
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance, especially in Telangana
- Experience with employee relations, investigations and sensitive separations
- Experience with HRMS and payroll systems (Keka, Zoho People, greytHR or similar)
- Excellent written and spoken English, and confident communicating with US leadership
- Mature, firm and fair, with the judgment to handle confidential matters and difficult conversations
- Experience in a startup, a growing company or US-facing operations is a plus
- Ability to speak Telugu is a plus
Location: Gachibowli, Hyderabad, India
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
