JOB SUMMARY
Catalyst Education is looking for a highly motivated and result-oriented Senior Academic Counsellor to join our Calicut team.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication, counselling and sales skills, with the ability to understand students' career goals and recommend suitable courses and learning programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Counsel students and parents regarding courses, programs and career opportunities.
- Handle inbound and outbound leads through calls, WhatsApp and other communication channels.
- Understand student requirements and provide appropriate course recommendations.
- Convert qualified leads into successful admissions.
- Achieve monthly admission and revenue targets.
- Follow up with prospective students and maintain a strong conversion pipeline.
- Conduct one-to-one counselling sessions and admission discussions.
- Explain course structure, fees, benefits, career opportunities and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, follow-ups and admissions in CRM.
- Handle objections and negotiate effectively to close admissions.
- Coordinate with academic and branch teams for smooth student onboarding.
- Support junior counsellors and contribute to improving team performance.
- Maintain professional relationships with students and parents.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in academic counselling, admissions, inside sales or EdTech.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent Malayalam and English communication skills.
- Strong convincing, negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
- Target-oriented and self-motivated approach.
- Good knowledge of CRM and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced, performance-driven environment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience in EdTech / Education Sales / Academic Counselling is preferred.
- Experience handling high-volume leads and admission targets will be an advantage.
- Candidates with proven sales conversion records are highly preferred.
