Job Description: DG Service Engineer (MEP / Service Call Management)About the Role

We provide DG (generator) rental and sale, diesel filling and delivery, and electrical, plumbing, and civil infra work for dark store sites for clients such as Blinkit and Flipkart. We are looking for a DG Service Engineer with an MEP or electrical/mechanical background who can own DG service calls end to end: receive the call, assign and attend, fix the fault, close it, and report on it.

Key Responsibilities

1. Service call management

● Receive and log DG breakdown and service calls from clients, site teams and the helpline, and assign them to technicians or attend personally.

● Track every call from open to close; meet response and closure TAT; escalate delays and repeat failures.

2. Technical service and maintenance

● Diagnose and fix DG faults: engine, alternator, AMF/control panel, ATS/changeover, batteries, cooling, fuel system, cabling and earthing.

● Carry out preventive maintenance as per schedule (oil, filters, coolant, belts, battery check, load test, running hours).

● Handle basic electrical and plumbing issues linked to DG installation at dark store sites; coordinate with the infra team for larger civil or MEP work.

● Support commissioning and inspection of newly installed or sold DG sets.

● Check and manage spare parts requirement, and raise purchase requests in time.

3. Reporting and documentation

● Prepare a service report / job card for every call: complaint, site, DG make and capacity, fault found, action taken, parts used, time in and out, client sign-off.

● Maintain a daily call log and a weekly/monthly MIS covering calls received vs closed, average closure time, repeat calls, pending calls and reasons, and engineer-wise performance.





● Maintain PM schedule and DG asset history (running hours, service dates, parts replaced) for each site.

● Report fuel consumption and DG running-hour data where required by clients.

● Share timely updates and reports with management and with client teams.

4. Team and vendor coordination

● Guide and supervise service technicians and helpers; allocate daily work.

● Coordinate with OEM service centres and spare parts vendors.

● Ensure site safety practices (PPE, LOTO, secure fuel handling) are followed.

Required Qualifications and Experience

● Diploma / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering (MEP background preferred).

● 2-5 years of experience in DG / genset servicing, MEP or facility maintenance (adjust as needed).

● Hands-on knowledge of diesel generators (Cummins, Kirloskar, Perkins, Mahindra Powerol or similar), control panels and ATS/AMF.

● Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets for call tracking and MIS; basic report writing in English and Hindi.

Preferred

● Experience with rental DG fleet or dark store / retail / warehouse sites.

● Exposure to IoT or remote monitoring of DG sets.

● Prior experience handling client SLAs (e-commerce, quick commerce).

Key Skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
