HIRING: Head of Growth & Operations | International Courier & Express Logistics | Hyderabad.

We are launching an international courier and express logistics business headquartered in Hyderabad (Hub: Kukatpally / West Zone).

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on logistics skilled to join as our Head of Growth & Operations, working directly alongside the Founders.

In this leadership role, you will use your industry network to secure wholesale carrier accounts with Tier-1 integrators (DHL Express, FedEx) as well as leading logistics aggregators and consolidators, building our operational infrastructure, store workflows, and sales pipeline across a structured 3-phase roadmap.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities by Phase

Phase 1: Setup, Carrier Integrations & Launch

- Operational Duties: Carrier & Aggregator Account Setup: Open wholesale agency accounts, negotiate tariff discount slabs, credit terms, and portal/API access with DHL Express, FedEx, and cross border aggregators.
- Hub SOPs & Packaging Standards: Set up the standard operating guidelines for the Store In charge—including mandatory commercial vacuum-sealing protocols for traditional foods/sweets/pickles, weight tolerances, and airline safety compliance.
- Packaging Supplier Procurement: Source and negotiate wholesale purchase contracts with packaging vendors for export-grade boxes, vacuum pouches, and bubble wrap.
- Customs Compliance Protocols: Implement filing workflows for CSB-IV (gift/personal parcels) and CSB-V (commercial samples/e-commerce), along with KYC verification and doctor prescriptions for medicines.
- Rider Fleet Setup: Recruit, onboard, and train the first 1 to 2 field pickup riders with two wheelers, mapping out initial pickup clusters across Hyderabad.
- Evening Dispatch Execution: Oversee the daily processing, weighing, manifesting, and on time handover of all collected parcels to carrier linehaul vehicles ahead of evening flight cut offs.
- Growth & Commercial Duties: Launch Marketing:



Drive retail walk-in and phone bookings from local NRI families sending food and medicines abroad via WhatsApp outreach, Google Business listings, and local flyers. Consultancy Partnerships: Establish initial referral tie-ups with study-abroad consultants, IELTS/GRE institutes, and visa centers for student document consignments.

Phase 2: Commercial Traction, Team Supervision & Break-Even

Operational Duties:

- Hub Oversight & Store Supervision: Supervise the Store In-charge and counter staff, running regular spot audits on digital weighing scales and volumetric measurements to prevent weight leakage.
- Ground Fleet Management: Supervise daily rider pickup runsheets, optimize travel routes, and enforce mandatory 100% daily cash/UPI reconciliation before closing the evening shift.
- Billing & Weight Dispute Auditing: Reconcile weekly billing files from DHL, FedEx, and aggregators against internal booking weights and photos to dispute and reverse incorrect volumetric surcharges.
- Ensure all parcels are handed over to carriers on time every evening so no shipment misses its flight, and quickly resolve any delivery delays or customs hold-ups.
- Growth & Commercial Duties: B2B SME Commercial Hunting: Personally visit, pitch, and onboard recurring SME commercial exporters across Hyderabad (textile boutiques, pharma test samples, engineering spares, and handicraft traders). Seasonal Campaign Execution: Lead marketing drives for peak seasonal rushes (student university intake and NRI festive food parcels for Diwali/Sankranti).

Phase 3: Scaling, Enterprise Contracts & City Expansion

Operational Duties:

- Operational Delegation & Systems: Ensure the store team handles all daily packing, billing, and dispatches independently so the branch runs smoothly on its own.
- Secondary Hub Expansion:



Plan the operational setup and logistics integration for secondary satellite booking counters in high-demand zones of Hyderabad (e.g., Secunderabad, Dilsukhnagar).
- Operational MIS Reporting: Deliver monthly executive reports to the Founders covering operational delivery success rates, rider cost-per-pickup, and gross freight margins.
- Growth & Commercial Duties: Enterprise Accounts: Negotiate and close large, long-term corporate shipping contracts with mid-sized exporters and manufacturing houses across Telangana. Channel Network: Build institutional referral programs with international travel agencies and corporate business associations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Experience: 4–8+ years of hands-on operational, commercial, and territory management experience in international courier, parcel express, or air freight logistics.
- Current/Past Role: Currently serving as an Assistant Territory Manager, Territory Manager, Area Operations Lead, or Commercial/Marketing Head at companies like DHL, Blue Dart, FedEx, DTDC, Delhivery, or with a major logistics aggregator.
- Industry Network: Must have active personal contacts with sales managers at DHL Express, FedEx, and cross-border aggregators to secure competitive wholesale rate slabs quickly.
- Commercial Drive: Proven track record of managing a strong revenue target (experience with monthly territory portfolios of ₹50L to ₹1 Cr+) and confident in closing B2B commercial accounts.
- Mindset: A practical, energetic leader ready to step into the driver’s seat, take full ownership of an entire territory, and build a thriving business unit with real decision-making freedom and zero corporate bureaucracy.
