- Study new customer inquiries, drawings and technical requirements.
- Prepare 2D & 3D drawings and develop components as per customer requirements.
- Calculate component weight based on drawing/design and material specifications.
- Prepare process planning for new components, including required manufacturing operations.
- Prepare costing of new inquiries.
- Prepare BOM, process sheets and manufacturing details for new products.
- Identify the most suitable and economical manufacturing process for recent components.
- Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Quality, Purchase and Sales teams for inquiry feasibility and costing.
- Review customer drawings and identify technical or manufacturing issues before quotation.
- Suggest design and process improvements for cost reduction.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) from inquiry stage to production.
- Prepare and maintain proper drawing revisions and technical documentation.
- Modify designs based on customer requirements, production feedback and quality issues.
- Ensure designs are practical for manufacturing and meet required dimensions and tolerances.
- Provide technical support for production and resolve design/process-related issues.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks/3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing, GD&T;, tolerances and material specifications.
- Strong understanding of weight calculation and product costing.
- Knowledge of brass components and electrical components will be highly preferred.
- Ability to understand customer drawings and determine material, weight, process and manufacturing cost.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
