Pay: ₹55,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month
Job type: Full-time
Work Location: Remote (UK working hours overlap required)

About Us

Inspired Elements is a London-based, design-led manufacturer of bespoke fitted furniture — kitchens, wardrobes, living spaces, home offices, wall panelling and joinery for complete home interiors. Everything is made in our own London manufacturing facility using German CNC machinery, and installed by our in-house team. We work with private homeowners as well as property developers, architects, interior designers, contractors and hospitality clients.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced, qualified Chartered Accountant to take ownership of our day-to-day accounts, UK VAT compliance, payments and purchasing controls.

This is not a general accounting role. You must have worked in the interiors, joinery, furniture manufacturing or construction industry and understand how project-based businesses run: customer deposits and stage payments, supplier credit accounts, materials purchasing, subcontractors and job costing.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounts

- Maintain accurate books of accounts on a day-to-day basis.
- Record sales, purchases, receipts and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and supplier/customer ledgers.
- Prepare month-end closing, management accounts and project profitability reports.
- Support year-end accounts and liaise with our external accountants/auditors.

VAT & Compliance

- Prepare and file UK VAT returns with HMRC under Making Tax Digital (MTD).
- Ensure correct VAT treatment on sales, purchases, deposits and imports.
- Handle Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions and returns for subcontractors (desirable).
- Keep records compliant and audit-ready.

Payments & Receivables

- Make supplier and subcontractor payments on time and within agreed terms.
- Raise customer invoices,

deposit requests and stage-payment invoices.
- Track and chase customer receipts, including trade and developer accounts.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and report on outstanding balances.

Purchasing & Cost Control

- Check purchase prices against quotes, price lists and agreed supplier terms.
- Review and approve purchase orders before they are placed.
- Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes (3-way matching).
- Monitor supplier credit limits and account balances.
- Check credit limits for trade customers before orders are accepted.
- Track material costs (boards, worktops, hardware, appliances, finishes) against project budgets.
- Flag price increases, overcharges, duplicate invoices and discrepancies.
- Support stock and materials valuation for the manufacturing facility.

Reporting

- Job costing: actual vs quoted cost for each project.
- Weekly/monthly reports on cash position, payables, receivables and margins.
- Assist management with pricing, budgeting and supplier negotiations using financial data.

Essential Requirements

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, ACA/ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in the interiors, construction, joinery or furniture manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience filing UK VAT returns.
- Solid bookkeeping and reconciliation skills.
- Experience with purchase ledger, PO processes and credit control.

- Excellent written and spoken English — you will communicate daily with our UK team, suppliers and customers.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with UK accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks or Sage).
- Knowledge of the UK Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
- Experience with project/job costing in a manufacturing or fit-out business.
- Experience working remotely for a UK-based company.
- Advanced Excel skills.

When Applying, Please Include
