Introduction to the Team:
Modern Checkout is Expedia’s next-generation booking platform, replacing legacy checkout systems with a unified, orchestrated experience across Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, and other brands. Team builds and operates customer-facing checkout experiences along with the backend APIs, orchestration,



and booking services that support the end-to-end booking journey. Engineers work with technologies such as Kotlin, Spring Boot, GraphQL, gRPC, and React-based services, while partnering closely with product, architecture, and other engineering teams.

In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure full stack software services and components supporting Expedia Group products and platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to translate business and customer requirements into robust system designs, including low-level design, API design, and data models across front-end and back-end services.
• Build and enhance user-facing experiences and supporting back-end services using clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, automated tests, and tooling that improve reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
