Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai at a Vasantha Bhavan restaurant location. The role involves preparing and cooking South Indian dishes, ensuring food quality and presentation standards, and following established recipes and portion guidelines. Daily responsibilities include maintaining kitchen and service area hygiene, adhering to food safety regulations, and coordinating with team members to ensure timely service. The role also includes interacting with guests in a courteous manner, managing orders efficiently,



and supporting opening and closing duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of South Indian vegetarian cuisine, including experience with common dishes, ingredients, and traditional preparation methods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant workplace, managing multiple orders while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and basic kitchen operations, including cleanliness and organization.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Prior experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is preferred; formal culinary training focused on South Indian cuisine is an advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by restaurant operations.
• Basic numeracy and order-handling skills for portion control, inventory support, and bill verification.
