Job Description

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver Transmission network planning studies, with a primary focus on UK transmission network development. The successful candidate will work closely with client network planning team.

Your Role

• In depth knowledge of UK Transmission network, Future year network scenarios, load and generation integration, interconnector operation and reinforcement assessments.
• In depth knowledge and understanding of NESO SQSS standard.
• Advanced expertise in Preparation, modification and validation of DIgSILENT PowerFactory study models using project documents and agreed planning assumptions.
• Good experience in Steady state Load flow and Continency analysis for future years focused on Thermal and Voltage assessments as per SQSS and performing boundary studies.
• Good experience in Short Circuit Studies for future network scenarios using DIgSILENT PowerFactory
• Good experience in RMS modelling and studies in DIgSILENT PowerFactory
• Good experience in System Design Specification (SDS)

• Prepare study reports and other technical documentations
• Good Knowledge of DPL, Python Scripting & Automation
• Coordinate with client network design and modelling teams. Lead and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong conceptualization ability, solid interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must, including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.
• Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented workplace.

About You

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience in transmission system planning studies.
• Prior experience in leading a client facing team
• Advanced expertise with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, including transmission network modelling, Load flow analysis,
