The role
Local Organisers are at the heart of UNISON’s growth and our members’ winning in their workplaces. This is a dynamic, hands-on role, ideal for people who want to be out in workplaces every day - talking with workers, building relationships, and inspiring collective action.
As a Local Organiser, you’ll receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to develop your skills. You’ll work on projects linked to our wider strategic goals and UNISON’s National Organising to Win strategy.
We’re looking for committed, self-motivated individuals who are passionate about strengthening the trade union movement. This is an entry-level role, so whether you already have experience in trade union organising or bring transferable skills from another area, we want to hear from you.
The person
To succeed, you’ll need excellent interpersonal skills, an understanding of the trade union movement, and the flexibility to travel within the region. Occasional travel to London may also be required for training or meetings.
