JOB DESCRIPTION – FACTORY SUPERVISOR

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Plant Head

Job Purpose

o supervise day-to-day factory operations, ensure smooth production as per plan, manage workers, maintain discipline, and ensure production targets, quality, hygiene, and wastage standards are achieved.

- Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily production activities and ensure production is completed as per the production plan.
- Allocate workers to different production areas and monitor their performance.
- Ensure proper manpower utilization and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
- Monitor production processes for bread, rusk, biscuits, cakes and other bakery products.
- Ensure correct recipes, batch quantities, process parameters and production procedures are followed.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor raw material usage and minimize unnecessary wastage and rework.
- Ensure proper cleaning, hygiene, GMP and food-safety practices on the production floor.
- Check product quality, weight, appearance, baking, packing and other basic parameters during production.
- Identify production problems and immediately report breakdowns, quality issues or manpower shortages.
- Maintain basic production records, wastage records, downtime and manpower reports.
- Ensure machines,



tools and production areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Train new workers on basic production processes, hygiene, safety and work discipline.
- Ensure workers follow safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Handle shift handover properly and communicate pending work/issues to the next shift.
- Take responsibility for achieving daily production targets with minimum wastage.
- Candidate Profile
- Experience: 3–8 years in a factory/production supervision role.
- Experience in FMCG / Food / Bakery / Dairy / Namkeen / Biscuits / Confectionery will be preferred.
- Graduate / Diploma / ITI preferred depending on experience.
- Good knowledge of manpower handling and shop-floor operations.
- Should be comfortable working in a production environment and shifts.
- Basic knowledge of production records, Excel and reporting.
- Strong discipline, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Should be hands-on and capable of managing workers directly.
