Job Title: Jig Boring Machine Operator and Milling Machine Operator

Department: Production / Machine Shop

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager

Job PurposeTo operate jig boring machines accurately and efficiently for precision machining of components, dies, fixtures, and tools, ensuring dimensional accuracy and adherence to drawing specifications.

- Key ResponsibilitiesOperate conventional jig boring machines for precision machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining drawings, and specifications.
- Set up jobs, fixtures, tools, and workholding devices as per requirements.
- Perform boring, drilling, reaming, and other precision machining operations.
- Check component dimensions using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Maintain required tolerances, surface finish, and positional accuracy.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.




- Carry out first-piece inspection and in-process inspection.
- Identify tool wear, machine abnormalities, and dimensional deviations and take corrective action.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and follow preventive maintenance requirements.
- Follow company safety procedures and 5S practices.
- Maintain production records, inspection reports, and job-related documentation.
- Required Skills & QualificationsITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Tool & Die Making preferred.
- 2–15 years of experience in jig boring/precision machining.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Ability to work with tight tolerances.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Positive understanding of 5S, safety, and quality requirements.
