About the Role

We are looking for a Business Operations Manager who will be responsible for managing and

coordinating the complete production and operational cycle of our packaging business.

The person will work closely with our manufacturing vendors, raw-material suppliers, internal team,

and customers to ensure that production is planned properly, quality standards are maintained,

costs are controlled, and finished goods are delivered to customers on time.

This is a hands-on role and requires someone who is comfortable regularly visiting manufacturing facilities.

The candidate should be someone who takes ownership, follows up proactively, identifies problems before

they become delays, and ensures that the job gets completed rather than simply

coordinating or passing information between different parties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning

- Plan and schedule production according to customer requirements and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate multiple production orders simultaneously.
- Track production progress and ensure commitments are met.
- Identify potential delays in advance and take corrective action.

2. Vendor & Manufacturing Management

- Coordinate production with different manufacturing vendors.
- Maintain robust day-to-day communication with vendors.
- Regularly visit vendor manufacturing plants to monitor production.
- Ensure vendors follow agreed production schedules, specifications, and quality standards.

- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with manufacturing partners.

3. Raw Material Planning

- Plan raw-material requirements based on production schedules.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor raw-material inventory and avoid unnecessary stock accumulation.
- Identify potential shortages well in advance.

4. Delivery & Daily Operations

- Manage the complete operational process from production planning to final delivery.
- Ensure materials are ready and dispatched according to customer requirements.
- Coordinate production, transportation, vendors, and internal teams.
- Follow up continuously to ensure there are no unnecessary delays.

5. Quality Control

- Oversee quality control throughout the production process.
- Regularly visit manufacturing locations to inspect production and quality.
- Ensure finished products meet customer specifications.
- Identify quality issues and coordinate with vendors to resolve them quickly.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurring quality problems.

6. Cost Control

- Monitor production and operational costs.
- Negotiate and control vendor-related production costs wherever possible.
- Identify wastage, inefficiencies, and unnecessary expenses.
- Work towards improving overall production efficiency and profitability.

7.

MIS & Excel-Based Planning

- Maintain production and operational data using Excel or ERP.
- Prepare production schedules, vendor-wise production reports, pending-order reports, and delivery schedules.
- Track production performance and identify delays or bottlenecks.
- Use Excel effectively for planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should:

- Have good practical knowledge of manufacturing/production operations.
- Have experience managing third-party manufacturing vendors.
- Be comfortable regularly travelling to vendor factories for production and quality monitoring.
- Have strong production planning and coordination skills.
- Have good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Be highly organised and capable of handling multiple orders simultaneously.
- Have good communication and negotiation skills.
- Be proactive and willing to take ownership of problems until they are resolved.
- Have a hands-on approach rather than relying solely on reports from vendors.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced business environment.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the entire production operation.

The right candidate should be able to look at an order, understand the production requirement, plan raw materials, coordinate with the appropriate vendor, monitor production, ensure quality, solve problems, control costs, and ultimately ensure that the finished material reaches the customer on time.
