Purpose of the role
Owns the look. The test of this role is straightforward and unforgiving: any two pieces from different weeks should look as though the same channel made them. That consistency does not come from effort on each edit — it comes from building a template system early and then working inside it.
Location - BKC/Navi Mumbai.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain the template library — one project template per format — so routine pieces take twenty minutes, not ninety.
- Own the house look: the LUT, the type system, the caption standard, the lower-thirds, the cover-frame templates.
- Cut to the standard: 1080×1920 at 30fps, no shot longer than six seconds on a talking head, every breath and hesitation trimmed, burned-in captions manually corrected, audio normalised to −14 LUFS with music sitting under the voice, a custom cover frame on every piece, and a clean loop from last frame to first.
What we need
- 3–5 years editing short-form vertical video, with a reel that shows it.
- Fluent in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, plus After Effects for motion graphics.
- Colour grading and audio mixing to a consistent standard across a body of work.
- Reads and understands Hindi or Marathi well enough to caption accurately and catch errors.
- Template-builder's instinct — the ability to see a repeatable system rather than a series of one-off edits.
Good to have
- Camera and lighting experience for batch shoot days.
- Motion-graphics design beyond basic titling.
- Prior work on devotional, mythological or historical content.
- Familiarity with what Instagram and YouTube reward, not just what looks good.
