1. About the InstitutionThe Cambria International School is an international school committed to providing a holistic, student-centric, and globally aligned education. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Vice Principal who can provide academic and operational leadership and contribute significantly to maintaining high standards across the school.
2. About the RoleThe Vice Principal will work closely with the Principal and School Management in leading the school's academic, administrative, and pastoral functions.
The role requires an experienced education leader who understands the requirements of an international school environment, particularly the Cambridge/IGCSE framework, while also having mandatory prior experience in pre-school/early-years education.
The ideal candidate should be capable of leading teachers, strengthening academic practices, ensuring effective implementation of school processes, and creating a positive learning setting for students.
3. Roles & ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
- Support the Principal in planning, implementing, and monitoring the school's academic vision and objectives.
- Ensure effective implementation of the Cambridge/IGCSE curriculum and academic framework.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom practices, assessments, academic progress, and learning outcomes.
- Review academic data and identify areas requiring intervention or improvement.
- Support Heads/Coordinators in curriculum planning, academic calendars, examinations, and assessments.
- Ensure appropriate academic support and intervention strategies for students.
- Promote innovative, student-centric, and inquiry-based teaching practices.
Early Years & Pre-School Leadership
- Provide effective leadership and supervision of the Pre-School/Early Years section.
- Ensure age-appropriate curriculum planning, teaching methodologies, classroom environments, and student engagement.
- Mentor and guide Early Years teachers and coordinators.
- Ensure appropriate practices for student safety, care, communication, and development.
- Monitor developmental milestones and ensure suitable academic and pastoral interventions.
- Work closely with parents regarding the academic and developmental needs of young learners.
Teacher Leadership & Development
- Supervise, guide, and mentor teaching staff.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Support teacher performance reviews and professional development initiatives.
- Identify training requirements and coordinate appropriate teacher development programmes.
- Promote accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement among staff.
School Operations
- Support the Principal in managing the day-to-day functioning of the school.
- Ensure effective implementation of school policies, SOPs, academic procedures, and operational processes.
- Coordinate with Academic Coordinators, Heads of Sections, Administration, HR, and other departments.
- Monitor timetables, substitutions, staff attendance, academic schedules, examinations, events, and other school activities.
- Ensure timely resolution of academic, staff, student, and parent-related concerns.
- Maintain effective communication between different sections and stakeholders.
Student & Parent Engagement
- Monitor student discipline, wellbeing, behaviour, and overall development.
- Handle escalated student and parent concerns professionally and appropriately.
- Build positive relationships with parents and maintain effective communication.
- Support student counselling, pastoral initiatives, and safeguarding practices.
- Ensure that student welfare and safety remain a priority across the school.
School Improvement & Compliance
- Assist the Principal and Management in developing and implementing school improvement initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with institutional policies and applicable educational requirements.
- Support Cambridge-related academic processes, documentation, assessments, and quality standards.
- Maintain appropriate academic and operational records.
- Contribute to developing and strengthening school systems, SOPs, and processes.

5. Qualifications & ExperienceMandatory:
- Master's Degree in Education / Educational Leadership / relevant subject or equivalent qualification.
- Mandatory prior experience in Pre-School / Early Years education and administration.
- Significant experience in a school leadership or senior academic management role.
- Prior experience in an IGCSE/Cambridge or other international curriculum school is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Cambridge curriculum, assessment practices, and academic standards.
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring teaching teams.
- Experience in handling parents, students, academic concerns, and school operations.
Preferred:
- B.Ed./M.Ed. or equivalent professional teaching qualification.
- Cambridge professional development qualifications/certifications.
- Experience in school accreditation, inspections, or quality assurance processes.
- Experience working across multiple school sections, including Early Years and primary/secondary levels.
