About the Role

We are looking for a Unity Technical Artist who can bridge the gap between Art, Design and Engineering to help us build high-quality, performant and scalable gaming experiences.

You will work closely with Product Designers, Game Artists, Animators, Game Designers and Unity Engineers to ensure that visual assets and experiences are not only visually polished, but also technically correct, performant and production-ready.

The ideal candidate understands both the creative and technical sides of game development and enjoys solving problems around asset pipelines, rendering, shaders, animation, UI, performance and visual fidelity.

What You'll Do

Art & Asset Pipeline

- Build and maintain efficient art and asset pipelines for Unity.
- Prepare, optimize and integrate 2D and 3D assets into Unity.
- Establish technical guidelines for textures, materials, sprites, meshes, animations and VFX.
- Identify and resolve asset-related technical issues.
- Ensure assets are optimized and production-ready across target platforms.
- Help establish reusable and scalable workflows for the Art and Design teams.

Figma → Unity

- Work closely with Product Designers to translate Figma designs into accurate Unity implementations.
- Inspect Figma files to understand layouts, dimensions, spacing, typography, colors, components and assets.
- Ensure pixel-accurate implementation of UI and visual designs in Unity.
- Understand and work with Figma components, variants, design systems and reusable patterns.
- Help define efficient workflows between Figma and Unity.
- Identify visual discrepancies between designs and the final Unity implementation.
- Partner with Designers to determine the most effective technical approach for complex interactions and animations.
- Help bridge the gap between the design system and Unity UI system.

Rendering & Visual Quality

- Work with Unity's rendering pipeline to achieve the desired visual quality and performance.
- Optimize draw calls, batching, textures, shaders, materials, meshes and memory usage.
- Work with URP, Shader Graph, materials, lighting and post-processing.
- Create and optimize shaders and materials where required.
- Solve visual issues such as aliasing, scaling, texture quality,

sorting and rendering inconsistencies.
- Maintain visual consistency across different devices and screen sizes.

Tools & Automation

- Develop Unity Editor tools and workflows that make designers and artists more productive.
- Automate repetitive production tasks wherever possible.
- Build tools and scripts for asset validation, importing, exporting and optimization.
- Improve the overall Art → Figma → Unity → Engineering production workflow.
- Establish processes that allow the team to move from concept to production faster.

Animation & VFX

- Support the integration and optimization of animations and VFX.
- Work with systems such as Animator, Timeline, Particle Systems and Shader Graph.
- Work with tools such as Rive, Lottie, Spine or similar technologies where appropriate.
- Ensure animations and visual effects perform consistently across target devices.

Design ↔ Engineering Collaboration

- Work closely with Product Designers and Game Designers to translate visual concepts into production-ready Unity experiences.
- Partner with engineers to establish technically feasible visual solutions.
- Provide technical feasibility feedback during the early stages of design.
- Help designers understand Unity's technical constraints without compromising the intended experience.
- Participate in design and implementation reviews.
- Troubleshoot issues across Design, Art and Engineering.

What We're Looking For

- 3–8 years of experience as a Technical Artist, Unity Technical Artist, Technical Designer or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Unity and its asset/rendering pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Unity UI, rendering, materials, textures, sprites, animation and VFX.
- Good knowledge of C# / Unity scripting for tools and workflow automation.
- Experience with Shader Graph / shaders.
- Strong understanding of Unity performance optimization and profiling.

- Strong working knowledge of Figma, including components, variants, design systems, layouts and reusable patterns.
- Ability to translate Figma designs accurately into Unity UI.
- Solid eye for visual quality, pixel accuracy and interaction details.
- Ability to troubleshoot visual and technical problems independently.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across Design, Art, Product and Engineering.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced game development environment.

Good to Have

- Experience with Figma → Unity workflows or conversion tools/plugins.
- Experience with Unity URP.
- Experience creating custom Unity Editor tools.
- Experience with Addressables / Asset Bundles.
- Knowledge of mobile game optimization.
- Experience with Unity Canvas architecture and UI performance.
- Experience with Rive, Lottie, Spine or similar animation technologies.
- Familiarity with Blender, Maya or other 3D tools.
- Experience with design-system and token-based workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted design or asset-generation workflows.
- Experience working on high-scale live games.

What Success Looks Like Within the first few months, you will:

- Improve the Figma → Unity → Engineering workflow.
- Reduce friction between Design, Art and Engineering.
- Establish clear technical standards for Unity assets.
- Improve visual fidelity while maintaining target performance.
- Identify and solve performance bottlenecks.
- Create reusable tools that reduce repetitive designer and artist work.
- Help the team achieve pixel-accurate implementation of designs in Unity.
- Build scalable workflows that allow the team to ship polished experiences faster.

Why This Role Matters This role will have a direct impact on how quickly and consistently we can turn creative concepts into polished game experiences.

You won't simply be implementing assets. You'll help define how our design and art systems work inside Unity, improve production workflows, and enable the team to deliver higher-quality experiences faster.

The ideal candidate is someone who can look at a beautiful Figma design and think:

“How do we build this accurately in Unity, make it scalable, and make sure it performs?”
