Who This Role Is NOT For
This role probably isn't a good fit if you:
- Prefer highly structured environments.
- Need detailed step-by-step instructions for every task.
- Are only interested in a specific technology stack.
- Want repetitive maintenance work.
- Prefer a predictable corporate workflow over startup ambiguity.
This is NOT a typical Software Engineering Job.
If you're looking for a role where you'll receive Jira tickets every morning, work on a tiny piece of a massive product, write code from 9 to 5, and wait for someone else to make decisions—this isn't it.
BiteBinary is an early-stage AI startup. You'll be one of the first few engineers helping build the company from the ground up. You'll work directly with founders, own problems end-to-end, and build products that go from an idea discussed in the morning to a working prototype within days.
We're not looking for someone who simply knows programming languages.
We're looking for someone who loves solving difficult problems.
Someone who enjoys figuring things out.
Someone who gets excited by building things that didn't exist yesterday.
About BiteBinary
BiteBinary builds niche AI-powered software products and intelligent automation solutions for businesses. Our work revolves around Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Computer Vision, Voice AI, local AI deployments, automation systems, and custom software engineering.
Every project is different.
One week you may be building an offline AI assistant for a biotechnology laboratory.
The next week you may be integrating speech recognition into an industrial application, designing an AI workflow, experimenting with new open-source models, or developing a completely new product.
If doing the same work every day excites you, this probably isn't the right place.
If learning something current every week excites you, keep reading.
What You'll Do
You won't be assigned a small module and asked to maintain it forever.
You'll be expected to understand problems, design solutions, learn whatever technology is required, and build working software.
Depending on the project, you may:
- Develop applications in Python
- Build AI and LLM-powered solutions
- Work with open-source AI models
- Develop APIs and backend services
- Integrate third-party hardware and software
- Build proof-of-concepts and production systems
- Debug difficult engineering problems
- Deploy and optimise applications
- Research unfamiliar technologies whenever required
No two months will look the same.
What We're Looking For
We're far more interested in how you think than the number of programming languages on your résumé.
You should be someone who:
- Learns new technologies quickly without waiting for formal training.
- Enjoys solving difficult engineering problems.
- Can independently research and implement solutions.
- Takes ownership instead of waiting for instructions.
- Is curious and constantly experimenting.
- Can execute projects from idea to deployment.
- Is comfortable working in uncertainty.
- Communicates clearly and honestly.
- Wants to build products,
not just write code.
Technical Requirements
You don't need to know everything.
However, you should have:
- Good working knowledge of Python.
- Around 1–3 years of software development experience (or equivalent real-world project experience).
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Git.
- Experience building real software projects.
Experience with any of these is a bonus:
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI agents
- FastAPI or Flask
- Docker
- Linux
- Computer Vision
- Speech AI
- Vector Databases
- Cloud deployment
- Local AI models
- CUDA or GPU optimisation
If you've built interesting personal projects, we'd love to see them. Who Will Enjoy This Role
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Loves building things.
- Gets bored doing repetitive work.
- Enjoys learning faster than everyone around them.
- Wants significant ownership from day one.
- Is excited about AI and emerging technologies.
- Wants to help shape an early-stage startup.
Why Join BiteBinary?
You'll have an opportunity to build products that matter, work directly with founders, and make technical decisions that genuinely influence the company.
There are no unnecessary meetings, no bureaucracy, and no layers of management between you and meaningful engineering work.
If you're the kind of engineer who likes saying "I'll figure it out" instead of "That's not my job," we'd love to talk.
