Role Objective

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle for advanced unmanned aerial platforms. Serving as the primary technical interface across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, avionics, flight control software, payloads, and ground control stations (GCS), you will define system architectures, flow down requirements, control interfaces, direct verification & validation (V&V;), and establish rigorous engineering documentation to ensure mission readiness, performance, and airworthiness compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Requirements Engineering &

- Traceability:

Define, author, and manage Concept of Operations (ConOps), System Requirements Documents (SRD), and subsystem-level technical specifications.

Establish and maintain end-to-end bidirectional traceability from customer requirements to test verification of artifacts using relevant tools.

- Architecture &
- Trade Studies:

Architect comprehensive UAS solutions for balancing SWaP-C, aerodynamic performance, payload capacity, datalink range, and mission endurance. Conduct multi-disciplinary trade studies to evaluate subsystem selection (autopilot hardware, propulsion, sensors, communication links).

- Interface Control &
- Systems Integration:

Author, manage, and baseline mechanical, electrical, RF, and software Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Supervise hardware/software integration across internal buses and communication protocols (CAN, UART, RS-422/485, Ethernet, MAVLink).

- Verification, Validation (V&V;) &
- Flight Testing:

Plan, design, and execute test programs across Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), ground tests, and field flight tests. Author comprehensive Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Flight Cards; analyze flight telemetry and lead Root Cause &

- Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.

- Safety &
- Airworthiness:

Conduct system safety and hazard assessments, including Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).



Support airworthiness certification activities in accordance with relevant defense/civil standards.

- Technical Documentation &
- Design Reviews:

Own and drive formal engineering review milestones: System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR). Author and manage high-quality technical documentation under formal configuration control, including:

- System Architecture Descriptions (SAD)
- Interface Control Documents (ICD)
- Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRM)

Required Qualifications

- Experience: 5 to 8 years of direct systems engineering, avionics integration, or flight systems design experience within the UAV/UAS, Aerospace, or Defense industries.Educa
