Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior PHP Laravel Developer role based in Dehradun.

The Senior

Developer will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs using PHP and Laravel, ensuring clean, secure, and efficient code. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with product and operations teams to understand logistics workflows, implementing new features, optimizing existing modules for performance, and integrating third-party services and internal tools. The role involves code reviews, troubleshooting and resolving production issues, writing unit and integration tests, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices.

Developer will also mentor junior developers and help refine the overall architecture to support Bigship’s rapid growth.

Qualifications

- Strong server-side development skills, including expertise in PHP, Laravel framework, and object-oriented programming.
- Proficiency in web technologies such as RESTful APIs, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with front-end integration.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), query optimization, and basic data modeling.
- Knowledge of version control and collaboration tools, such as Git, code review workflows, and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, secure coding practices, and performance optimization.
- Ability to analyze requirements, conduct technical research, and translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Experience mentoring developers, participating in agile methodologies, and working in cross-functional product teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in logistics, e-commerce, or SaaS platforms is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on-site in Dehradun on a full-time basis.
