Experience

– Senior Linux and Zabbix Systems Engineer

6 8 years of relevant experience in Zabbix administration and Linux server operations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Linux Administration

- Strong hands on experience in RHEL and Ubuntu administration.
- L3 level troubleshooting of complex Linux OS, boot, kernel, filesystem, network, and performance issues.
- Red Hat Satellite administration, including content lifecycle management, patching, repository management, activation keys, and host management.
- Ubuntu server administration, including patching, upgrades, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
- Support virtualization and cloud infrastructure, including VMware, KVM, Hyper V, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Support Linux environments hosted on virtualized and cloud platforms, including exposure to AWS infrastructure automation using Ansible.
- Build, configure, administer, and lifecycle manage physical and virtual Linux servers running RHEL 7/8/9 and Ubuntu.
- Perform server provisioning, OS installation, configuration, standardization, hardening, patching, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Plan and execute RHEL OS upgrades, including RHEL 7 to RHEL 8/9 where applicable, and troubleshoot issues during and after upgrades.
- Build, configure, and maintain Pacemaker/Corosync/PCS high availability clusters, including cluster resources, resource groups, constraints, quorum, fencing/STONITH, and failover policies.
- Support clustered environments including SAP HANA on AWS and Pacemaker based HA solutions.
- Manage core Linux components including systemd, processes, services, users, groups, permissions, sudo, SSH, cron, filesystems, LVM, RAID, and networking.
- Manage enterprise storage, including LVM, multipathing, NFS, SAN, RAID, and filesystem troubleshooting.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and L3 level root cause analysis of Linux OS, boot, kernel, filesystem, network, storage, application, and performance issues.
- Analyze system logs and troubleshoot boot failures, kernel issues, critical services, connectivity problems, and resource related incidents.




- Perform performance tuning and capacity management for CPU, memory, disk I/O, filesystems, and network resources.
- Manage Linux networking, including DNS, routing, bonding, firewall configuration, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain Linux security controls, including SELinux, firewalls, PAM, SSH security, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
- Administer Red Hat Satellite, including content lifecycle management, repository management, patching, activation keys, and host management.
- Perform OS patching and security updates in accordance with organizational standards and vulnerability management requirements.
- Automate administrative and infrastructure tasks using Bash/Shell scripting, Python, and Ansible.
- Develop and maintain Ansible automation for server provisioning, configuration, patching, and infrastructure management.
- Manage production incidents, service requests, problems, and changes within agreed SLAs and 24x7 operational environments.
- Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical and recurring infrastructure issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate with application, database, storage, network, security, and cloud teams for infrastructure operations and issue resolution.
- Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to L1/L2 support teams and contribute to knowledge management and operational improvement.

Zabbix Administration Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Zabbix Server, Zabbix Agents, and Zabbix Proxies.

Configure monitoring for Linux servers, applications, databases, network devices, and other infrastructure components.

Create and maintain hosts, host groups, templates, items, triggers, discovery rules, actions,



and dashboards.

Configure Zabbix agents and agent based monitoring across Linux servers.

Develop and customize monitoring templates based on operational requirements.

Configure thresholds, triggers, alerts, and notification mechanisms.

Troubleshoot Zabbix monitoring failures, false alerts, and agent connectivity issues.

Perform Zabbix upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and health checks.

Manage Zabbix users, roles, authentication, and access permissions.

Configure and troubleshoot Zabbix proxies in distributed monitoring environments.

Analyze monitoring trends and identify recurring infrastructure issues.

Maintain Zabbix documentation, monitoring standards, and operational procedures.
