The M365 Sr Intune Engineer will work within a global Enterprise Infrastructure team. For this global engineering role, Accendra Health is seeking an SME on SCCM, Autopilot, and Intune which includes knowledge of the latest Microsoft products and technologies such as Microsoft 365 & Entra ID, as well as 3rds party integration solutions, such as for patching non-Microsoft applications. This individual will be leading a multi-year project, at a global scale, to move to the enrollment of approximately 7000 endpoints using Microsoft Autopilot, Windows Intune, Microsoft Azure/Entra ID.
The M365 Sr Intune Engineer will ensure development of, and compliance to, established system reference architectures, compliance to regulations and security policies, define standards and best practices, and author and maintain roadmap strategy documentation. The M365 Sr Intune Engineer will lead the charge to move toward modern device deployment and management, including Operating System provisioning and application deployment, by leveraging the M365 Intune and Autopilot technologies. This role will need to perform as a champion for all M365 services, but especially for Intune and Autopilot.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to the overall M365 roadmap and strategy
- Plan, Architect, and Deploy Intune services for OS and application deployment at scale
- Plan core implementation strategies to support recent and forecasted requirements
- Partner with key business and Accendra product stakeholders and architects to ensure strategy is compliant with demand/requirements
- Complex problem resolution skills relating to inter-operability
- Work closely with multi-discipline Technical Architects on solution development
- Function as a Tier-4 escalation point during major outages or critical downtime windows
- Ensure corporate regulations, security, and legal requirements are maintained globally
- Develop a solution that provides an excellent end-user experience for the lifecycle of their endpoint device through automated deployment of OS and applications
Project Responsibilities: As new technology projects are planned this role will need to review the technology function being proposed and collect requirements to determine demands into the overall system architecture and interoperability with internal corporate private cloud. Common expectations are to present plans to the project and governance teams and agree how to carry them out. These projects will primarily focus on developing a modern management architecture for endpoint devices at a global scale.
Operational Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have very high levels of visibility when requests are made from the organization. These requests are commonly unplanned, urgent, and critical in nature. This Administrator resource will need to provide escalation level support when lower levels of the organization are unable to progress or need guidance.
Mentorship overall is expected out of this role to ensure technical teams are comprehending complex solutions and the operational impact. General architecture services will be required in the following areas:
- Partner with operations organization (i.e. L1-3) for continuous improvement in offloading incident management and diagnosis of issues for increased ownership user support issues to limit escalations to our teams (shift left)
- M365 automation and administration optimization (eliminate human actions)
- Engagement and collaboration with application stakeholders
- Problem management for root cause analysis and remediation
Core Job Requirements
Essential Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or comparable discipline or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years as a Sr. Engineer role with SCCM Engineering / Architecting / Support experience, not just the endpoint administrator “user” of the platform to perform endpoint management
- 8 years of experience in Information Technology in the management, configuration, modification, installation, and evaluation of SCCM and Intune
- SME level knowledge and experience understanding of “Endpoint administration” is critical (image build, image deployment, software packaging, post-deployment driver mgmt., script deployment, vulnerability mgmt.)
- environments with WIN PE and boot environment drivers, building boot media, setting up and maintaining PXE boot
- Experience in architecture of HYBRID-JOINED Machines
- Automation focused with strong demonstrated knowledge/use of scripting, particularly PowerShell. Experience with Microsoft Graph is a plus.
- Develop, document, and communicate technical implementation designs and turn over to deployment engineers for delivery
- Ability to work on a heterogeneous network consisting of different hardware manufacturers.
- Must be able to work occasional weekends and after hours
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
