Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Procurement Professional with 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing procurement, preferably from the EV, Automotive, Battery, Electronics, or Electrical manufacturing industry.

The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities covering Direct Materials, Indirect Materials, Consumables, Packaging Materials, Engineering Items, Maintenance Spares, and Production Support Materials.

The role requires strong supplier coordination, commercial negotiation, cost optimization, material planning, purchase order management, delivery follow-up, and cross-functional coordination with Production, PPC, Quality, Stores, Finance, Engineering, and R&D; teams.

Key Responsibilities

A. Direct Material Procurement

Manage procurement of production-critical materials for:

- E-Bicycle / E-Bike assembly
- Lithium-Ion Battery Pack manufacturing
- BLDC Motor manufacturing
- Charger manufacturing
- Display manufacturing
- PCB/electronic assemblies
- Electrical and mechanical components
- Plastic and injection-moulded components
- Metal components and fabricated parts
- Hardware, fasteners, brackets, shafts, housings, etc.

Ensure timely availability of materials as per production requirements and approved specifications. B. Packaging Material Procurement

Handle procurement of various packaging materials, including:

- Corrugated/carton boxes
- Inner boxes
- EPE foam
- Thermocol/foam protection
- Bubble wrap
- Stretch film
- BOPP tape
- Strapping material
- Labels and stickers
- Printing materials
- Polybags
- Pallets
- Edge/corner protection
- Other export/domestic packaging materials

Coordinate with suppliers to ensure required quality, strength, dimensions, printing, and delivery timelines. C. Indirect Material & Consumables

Manage procurement of

- Production consumables
- Cleaning materials
- Adhesives and tapes
- Lubricants
- PPE
- Safety items
- Stationery
- Electrical consumables
- Maintenance consumables
- Tools and fixtures
- Fast-moving engineering items




- General factory consumables

Ensure optimum inventory without unnecessary stock accumulation. D. Supplier Development & Management The candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing suppliers based on company requirements.

Key responsibilities include

- Identify and develop new suppliers based on company requirements.
- Obtain quotations from approved/new suppliers.
- Conduct supplier comparison and commercial evaluation.
- Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams for supplier evaluation.
- Monitor supplier performance related to Quality, Cost, Delivery and Service (QCDS).
- Maintain supplier database and supplier performance records.
- Develop alternate sources for critical materials.
- Support supplier audits along with Quality/Engineering teams.

E. Cost Reduction & Commercial Negotiation The candidate will be responsible for commercial negotiations and identifying opportunities for procurement cost optimization.

Key responsibilities include

- Negotiate price, payment terms, MOQ, lead time, freight, tooling, and other commercial terms.
- Conduct quotation comparison and prepare Comparative Statements (CS).
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through:
- Supplier development
- Alternate sourcing
- Volume negotiation
- Localization
- Value engineering
- Annual rate contracts
- Bulk purchase optimization
- Support procurement cost reduction targets.

F. Purchase Order Management

Create and release Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.

Ensure PO contains correct

- Part number
- Description
- Specification
- Quantity
- Price
- GST
- Delivery location
- Delivery schedule
- Payment terms
- Quality requirements

Monitor PO acknowledgement and supplier commitment. Follow up continuously until material receipt. G. Material Planning & Delivery Coordination

Coordinate closely with

PPC → Procurement → Supplier → Stores → Quality → Production

Responsibilities include

- Review material requirements.
- Follow up on open POs.
- Track supplier dispatch schedules.
- Monitor critical/short materials.
- Escalate potential production shortages.
- Prepare shortage and pending PO reports.
- Ensure material availability as per production plan.
- Support reduction of line stoppages caused by material shortages.

H. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with

- Production
- PPC
- IQC/Quality
- Stores/Warehouse
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Maintenance

Resolve material-related issues through effective communication and timely escalation. I. Procurement Documentation

Maintain and update the following procurement-related documents and records:

- Purchase Orders
- RFQs
- Supplier Quotations
- Comparative Statements
- Supplier Master Data
- Rate Contracts
- Delivery Schedules
- Open PO Reports




- Material Shortage Reports
- Supplier Performance Reports
- Cost Saving Reports
- Procurement MIS
- GRN-related coordination records

J. ERP / System Knowledge The candidate should have practical knowledge of ERP-based procurement processes, including:

- Purchase Requisition (PR)
- Request for Quotation (RFQ)
- Comparative Statement
- Purchase Order (PO)
- Goods Receipt Note (GRN)
- Supplier Master
- Inventory monitoring
- Open PO tracking
- Material requirement monitoring

Knowledge of SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics / other ERP systems will be preferred.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in Procurement/Purchase, preferably in manufacturing.

Experience in EV/Automotive/Electronics/Battery manufacturing will be an advantage.

The candidate should possess

- Strong supplier coordination and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing materials and procurement processes.
- Strong MS Excel and ERP skills.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and materials simultaneously.
- Strong communication and follow-up capabilities.
- Ability to work closely with PPC, Quality, Stores and Production teams.

Overall Objective of the Role To ensure the right material, at the right quality, at the right cost, in the right quantity, and at the right time, while continuously improving supplier performance, procurement cost, material availability, and supply-chain efficiency.
