Role Description The Senior Cost Manager – Civil (Pre-Contract) is a full-time, in office role based in Bengaluru. This position is responsible for leading pre-contract cost management activities, including preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for civil and infrastructure projects. The role involves analyzing drawings and specifications, conducting cost benchmarking, and advising on procurement strategies and contract conditions.

Manager will liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors to validate budgets, manage cost plans, and support value engineering initiatives. The role also includes reviewing bids, supporting negotiation and financial closure, preparing reports, and mentoring junior team members to ensure delivery of accurate,



timely, and high-quality cost consultancy services.

Qualifications

- Strong civil cost management expertise, including pre-contract estimating, quantity take-offs, and preparation of bills of quantities.
- Proficiency in tendering and procurement processes, bid evaluation, and contract documentation for property and construction projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design information for accurate cost planning and value engineering.
- Experience in budget development, cost control, financial risk assessment, and advising on return on investment for construction projects.
- Competence in using cost management and quantity surveying software, spreadsheets, and relevant digital tools.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex cost information clearly.
- Proven experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members in a consulting or skilled services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership or progress toward membership in RICS or equivalent surveying/body is an advantage.
- Prior experience in an independent cost consultancy or similar setting, particularly in the property and construction industry.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru and collaborate with multidisciplinary
