Qualification : Engineering degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline
Experience : Minimum 5 years experience in subsea sealine design
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform all discipline analyses, technical reports and specifications required to design the pipelines system and relevant components
- Review Client's technical documentation and requirements
- Prepare technical qualifications and contribute for the definition of the technical proposal while bidding for EPCI contracts
- Interfacing actively with other internal disciplines as geotechnical, flow assurance, material technology, structural and installation and guarantee installability and fabricability of the solution
- Review and collaborate to raise external interfaces to other Contractors involved in the Project and/or queries and deviation requests to Client
- Prepare MTOs, technical specifications and requisition for material and services purchasing
- Oversee the bid evaluation and procurements phases
- Contribute to update and improve the department tools for Sealine Engineering
- Contribute to the implementation and improvement of the department quality system
- Contribute to the standardization and definition of procedures for the department working process
Required Skills
- Familiarity with international standards and Clients specifications for subsea pipeline design
- Expertise in using software for pipelines and spools design (Abaqus, Fatfree, Stablines, SAGE)
- Capability to develop main tasks of the Subsea Pipeline Engineering including: route selection, pipe wall thickness sizing, on bottom stability and concrete coating design, on bottom roughness and free-span assessment, expansion analysis, crossing of existing pipelines and cables, shore approach design, design of seabed intervention works for stress and free-span fatigue mitigation, stabilization, protection, design of pipeline components
- Capability to perform vortex induced vibration analysis on pipeline free-spans. Evaluate the pipeline response to vortex induced vibration due to the action of currents and waves, verify the capability of the pipeline to withstand the loads, design mitigation measures
- Robust capability to analyse Buckling and Walking phenomena
- Expertise in expansion loop and tie-in spool design and capability to optimize spool shape to comply with interface capacities and stress level on the pipe
- Being familiar with fabrication and pre-fabrication sequence for spools
- Being familiar with pre-lay and post-lay intervention works and trenching
- Capability to define scope of supply for Vendors for pipelines ancillaries
- Experience with Python coding
- Must have good interpersonal skills and able to interface with colleagues, supervisors, drafting designers and other engineers on multi-discipline pipeline projects
