Engineer must ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and company policies, thereby minimizing the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and environmental harm.In addition to regulatory compliance, the Safety Engineer plays a critical role in developing safety procedures, method statements, and emergency response plans tailored to the specific requirements of the site. They are responsible for conducting regular site inspections and audits to monitor ongoing operations, identify unsafe practices or conditions, and recommend corrective actions promptly. The role also includes investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implementing preventive strategies to avoid recurrence, while maintaining accurate records and reports for management review and legal compliance.He will also tasked with delivering safety training and awareness programs to workers,
supervisors, and subcontractors, ensuring that all personnel understand safety protocols, hazard identification, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.
They must foster a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee participation, promoting safe work practices, and addressing safety concerns raised by workers in a timely and professional manner.Coordination with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities is another essential aspect of the role, ensuring that safety considerations are integrated into all phases of the project, from planning and design to execution and completion.
