Company Description National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways & Coasts (NTCPWC) is a specialized hub for technological innovation and new solutions in the port and maritime sector. Role Description The Resident Engineer role is a contract, on-site position based in Patna.

The Resident

Engineer will oversee day-to-day technical activities at the project site, including monitoring construction and installation work, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders. This role involves conducting inspections, preparing technical reports, supporting troubleshooting and maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

The Resident

Engineer will also assist in implementing engineering solutions recommended by NTCPWC, provide technical input during project meetings, and support data collection and documentation for applied research and technology transfer.

Qualifications





- Strong foundation in civil, mechanical, or maritime engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to port, waterway, and coastal projects.
- Experience in site supervision, construction monitoring, and quality assurance for infrastructure or marine-related projects.
- Proficiency in technical documentation, including preparation of reports, drawings review, and compliance checklists.
- Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices relevant to ports, waterways, and coastal engineering.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, consultants, and government stakeholders, and communicate technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with basic project management practices such as scheduling, resource coordination, and progress tracking.
- Comfort with using standard engineering tools and software (e.g., MS Office, basic CAD or design tools), and willingness to learn sector-specific technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Marine, or related discipline) from a recognized institution; a higher degree or specialization in maritime or coastal engineering is an advantage.
- Previous experience in port, waterway, or coastal projects, or in government/PSU infrastructure projects, is preferred.
- Ability to work in office in Patna for the full contract duration, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and adherence to NTCPWC’s ethical and quality standards.
