AB InBev India is looking to hire Manager -Regional Transportation for its Logistics team based out of Bengaluru.

The role holder will be responsible for leading transportation operations for the assigned region, ensuring reliable and cost-effective movement of finished goods across breweries, depots, warehouses, and markets. The incumbent will own vehicle availability, dispatch adherence, transporter performance, transit reliability, transportation cost, compliance, and operational issue resolution across the regional network.

The role will partner closely with Planning, Brewery Logistics, Depot Operations, Sales, Finance, and transporter partners to ensure transportation capacity is aligned with business requirements while driving service excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Job Responsibilities

Transportation Operations & Service Delivery

- Lead end-to-end transportation operations for the assigned region.
- Ensure vehicle availability and placement against daily and weekly dispatch plans.
- Drive dispatch adherence and timely movement of finished goods from breweries and warehouses to destination locations.
- Monitor in-transit shipments and drive timely resolution of delays, breakdowns, vehicle shortages, and delivery exceptions.
- Ensure transportation capacity is aligned with peak season, business growth, and changing market requirements.
- Establish contingency transportation arrangements to ensure business continuity during capacity constraints.
- Drive reduction in detention, turnaround time, and transportation-related service failures.

Transporter Management

- Manage relationships and operational governance with transporters and logistics service providers across the region.
- Establish transporter performance reviews covering vehicle placement, transit time, delivery adherence, service quality, and compliance.
- Drive corrective action plans with underperforming transport partners.
- Partner with Procurement on transporter contracting, capacity requirements,



commercial discussions, and supplier performance.
- Identify transportation capacity and supplier risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Support development of secondary transportation sources to improve network resilience.

Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination

- Partner with Supply Planning and Commercial Planning teams to understand dispatch requirements and upcoming capacity needs.
- Work closely with Brewery Logistics Managers and Depot Operations teams to ensure seamless dispatch execution.
- Coordinate transportation plans with production, inventory, permit, and market requirements.
- Proactively highlight transportation constraints that could impact product availability or customer service.
- Support peak planning and scenario planning for high-volume periods and business events.

Transportation Performance & Analytics

- Own regional transportation KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Monitor vehicle placement, dispatch adherence, transit performance, detention, delivery adherence, freight cost, and transporter performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring service failures and establish corrective actions.
- Ensure timely publication of daily, weekly, and monthly transportation MIS.
- Use operational data to identify cost, service, and productivity improvement opportunities.
- Drive data accuracy and visibility across transportation operations.

Cost & Productivity Management

- Monitor regional transportation costs and identify opportunities to improve freight efficiency.
- Drive initiatives to improve truck utilization, route efficiency, turnaround time, and network productivity.
- Monitor operational cost deviations and support corrective actions.
- Partner with Procurement and Finance on freight-related performance and cost improvement initiatives.




- Identify opportunities for transportation network optimization without compromising service levels.

Process, Controls & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to transportation SOPs, operational controls, and defined governance standards.
- Drive accurate and timely POD closure and transportation documentation.
- Ensure transportation operations comply with applicable business and statutory requirements.
- Support audit requirements and closure of transportation-related observations.
- Drive process standardization across breweries, depots, and transportation partners within the region.

Digitalization & Continuous Improvement

- Drive adoption of TMS, vehicle tracking, SAP/ERP, and transportation visibility tools.
- Identify opportunities to automate transportation MIS and operational processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, productivity, and visibility.
- Support implementation of transportation transformation projects and recent logistics technologies.
- Promote exception-based management through improved dashboards and tracking mechanisms

. Team & Operational Leadership

- Provide direction and governance to Transportation Operations Executives supporting the region.
- Establish clear operating routines, priorities, and escalation mechanisms.
- Build a culture of ownership, responsiveness, data accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Coach operational teams on transportation processes, stakeholder management, and issue resolution.
- Ensure effective coordination across locations and transportation partners.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.
- 3-6 years of experience in Transportation, Logistics Operations, Distribution, Fleet Management, or Supply Chain.
- Experience managing transporters and multi-location transportation operations.
- FMCG, Beverage, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, or high-volume distribution experience preferred.

Working knowledge of SAP, TMS, ERP, or transportation management platforms. And above all of this, an undying love for beer!
