About The Role:

At Brightrays, as a QA Software Tester, you will test the real web tools and dashboards that power our marketing operations. Many of these tools are built quickly with AI-assisted coding, which can leave hidden gaps: missing validations, broken edge cases, weak access control and flows that only work on the happy path. Your main job is to find those gaps before our users do.

You will test complete user flows end to end, think like a real (and sometimes careless or malicious) user, and help turn the most important checks into automated tests that keep protecting us after every release.

- Work Model: Onsite, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

- Walk through complete user journeys (e.g. sign-up → login → create → save → export → logout) across user roles, browsers and devices, checking every handoff between screens, APIs and data.
- Review tickets, specs and designs before development starts to flag unclear, missing or conflicting requirements early.
- Write test cases and checklists covering positive, negative, boundary and edge scenarios (empty fields, wrong formats, double clicks, slow networks, expired sessions).
- Perform functional, smoke, regression, UI and cross-browser testing on web apps and dashboards before each release.
- Convert secure, high-value flows into automated tests with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium, and keep them updated as the product changes.
- Use Postman to check responses, status codes and error handling, including invalid inputs, missing fields and unauthorised requests.
- Test logins, sessions and role-based access (e.g. can a user see someone else's data by changing a URL or ID?) and watch for exposed secrets and basic injection risks.
- Test marketing tracking (GTM, pixels,



analytics, conversion events) and verify that dashboard numbers match the source data, so clients and teams can trust our reporting.
- Use Lighthouse or PageSpeed to flag slow pages and heavy assets that hurt user experience and SEO.
- Log clear, reproducible bugs with steps, screenshots or recordings and severity, retest fixes, give a go/no-go before releases and work closely with developers and the teams who use the tools.

What We're looking For:

- Degree in B.Tech, CS, IT or a related field, with minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in software/web application testing and QA.
- Manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, cross-browser) and test design techniques such as boundary values, equivalence partitioning and negative testing.
- Understanding of how automated UI tests work (locators, assertions, waits) and hands-on experience writing and maintaining tests with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, Python and Java.
- HTML, CSS, APIs and browser DevTools (Console, Network tab).
- Basic understanding of common web risks (OWASP Top 10).
- Postman for APIs; Git/GitHub for version control.
- Clear written English for bug reports and test cases.

Preferred Qualification:

- Basic SQL to check data in a database.
- Exposure to running automated tests in a CI pipeline (e.g. GitHub Actions).
- Experience with Jira, ClickUp or Trello.
- Awareness of where AI-generated code can quietly fail.
- Experience testing marketing or analytics tools (GA4, GTM, SEO or CRM dashboards).
- ISTQB Foundation certification, or testing / automation projects on GitHub or in a portfolio.
