Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhuj, responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services required for Rio Clays’ manufacturing operations. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates contracts and pricing, and ensures timely delivery of materials that meet quality and compliance standards.

The Purchasing

Manager monitors inventory levels, collaborates with production, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing plans with operational needs, and analyzes market trends to optimize cost and supply risk.



Daily activities include evaluating vendor performance, preparing purchase orders, maintaining accurate procurement records, and implementing process improvements within the purchasing function.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in procurement and sourcing, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience with inventory management, demand planning, and cost optimization in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to analyze market trends, pricing data, and supply risks to support strategic purchasing decisions.
- Competence in using ERP or procurement systems and standard office productivity tools.
- Solid understanding of materials used in industrial minerals or related sectors (e.g., ceramics, coatings, paper, fiberglass) is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., in purchasing or supply chain) are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site in Bhuj, manage multiple priorities, and uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards in all purchasing activities.
