- Job Purpose To plan, coordinate, execute, and monitor engineering and manufacturing projects for EOT cranes, gantry cranes, hoists, and other material-handling equipment, ensuring timely delivery, technical compliance, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Key Responsibilities

A. Project Planning & Execution
- Study customer purchase orders, technical specifications, approved drawings, and contractual requirements.
- Prepare project execution schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, production, quality, stores, dispatch, and site installation activities.
- Track project deliverables and identify delays, bottlenecks, and corrective actions.
- Maintain project documentation, records, and progress reports.
- Coordinate with customers and consultants regarding technical and project-related matters.

B. Engineering Coordination
- Review and coordinate preparation of GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, load calculations, and technical documents.
- Coordinate crane structural, mechanical, electrical, and control-system requirements.
- Verify drawings and calculations against applicable standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate design modifications arising from manufacturing, site conditions, or customer requirements.
- Assist engineering teams in resolving technical and fabrication-related issues.

C. Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Prepare and monitor material and bought-out component requirements.
- Coordinate with purchase and vendors for timely procurement of critical components.
- Review vendor drawings and technical documents.
- Follow up for delivery of motors, gearboxes, brakes, ropes, sheaves, bearings, electrical panels, drives, rails, wheels, hooks, and other ordered components with purchase team.
- Evaluate technical compliance of vendor-supplied materials and components.

D. Manufacturing Coordination
- Coordinate with production for fabrication and assembly activities.
- Monitor manufacturing progress against the project schedule.
- Resolve technical issues encountered during fabrication and assembly.
- Ensure availability of approved drawings, BOMs, materials,



and specifications before production.
- Coordinate dimensional inspection and assembly checks.

E. Quality & Inspection
- Coordinate inspection activities with the Quality Department.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and applicable Indian Standards.
- Coordinate customer/third-party inspections.
- Assist in preparation and compilation of inspection reports, test certificates, material certificates, and quality documentation.
- Ensure closure of inspection observations and non-conformities.

F. Site Installation & Commissioning
- Coordinate crane erection, installation, alignment, electrical work, testing, and commissioning at site.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, customers, and consultants.
- Monitor site progress and resolve technical/site-related issues.
- Ensure proper completion of load testing, functional testing, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate preparation of commissioning and handover documents.

G. Commercial & Customer Coordination
- Review project scope and identify deviations or additional requirements.
- Prepare technical inputs for variation orders and additional work.
- Coordinate with the commercial team regarding project-related technical and contractual matters.
- Maintain professional communication with customers throughout project execution.
- Attend technical meetings and prepare MOM/action points.

H. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain and update

- Project schedules

- Test and commissioning reports

- O&M; manuals
- Project handover documentation
- Technical Knowledge The candidate should preferably have knowledge of:
- EOT, HOT, gantry and jib cranes
- Crane mechanisms and components
- Wire ropes, sheaves, rope drums, hooks and hook blocks
- Motors, gearboxes, brakes and couplings
- Crane wheels, rails and end carriages
- Structural fabrication and welding
- Electrical panels, VFDs, festoon systems and pendant/control systems




- Crane load calculations and basic mechanical calculations
- Engineering drawings and BOMs
- AutoCAD and preferably SolidWorks/other 3D CAD software
- MS Excel and MS Project/other project scheduling software
- Applicable IS standards, particularly IS 3177, IS 807 and relevant crane/component standards

- Educational Qualification

Essential

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred

Experience in crane manufacturing, material handling equipment, heavy fabrication, industrial machinery, or similar engineering industries.
- Experience

Preferred: 5 – 7 years of experience in project execution, engineering coordination, production coordination, or material-handling equipment.

Candidates with experience specifically in EOT/gantry crane design, manufacturing, erection and commissioning will be preferred.

- Authority & Responsibility The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating all assigned project activities from order receipt through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, dispatch, installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

The Project Engineer shall promptly escalate technical, commercial, quality, safety, or schedule-related issues to the Managing Director.
- Preferred Candidate Profile A practical, technically strong Mechanical Engineer who can independently coordinate multiple crane projects simultaneously, communicate effectively with customers, vendors and internal departments, and take ownership of the project from order stage through successful commissioning and handover.
