Company Description Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (IIT (ISM) Dhanbad) is a premier technical institution in Jharkhand, established in 1926. The Drone Electronics Lab in the Department of Electronics Engineering conducts research and development in UAV and drone technology. Its work spans electronics design, embedded systems, sensing, communication and autonomous flight, and it supports national capacity building in drones through a MeitY-sponsored project.

Role Description The Project Associate-1 will support research and development activities in UAV and drone electronics at the Drone Electronics Lab, Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, under a MeitY-sponsored project on capacity building for human resource development in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. This is a temporary, on-site project based role.

The role involves product development and proof-of-concept development, generation and protection of intellectual property, and organization and execution of bootcamps.

The Project

Associate-1 will assist in the design and development of Master Trainer courses, prepare technical documentation and progress reports for the funding agency and institutional review, and update the project portal. The role includes collaborating with faculty, research staff, and students,



supporting laboratory and field work where required, and ensuring that project milestones and timelines are met.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in ECE, CSE, EE, ME, or Aerospace Engineering with a good academic record.
- Good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: UAV systems, communication systems, machine learning, signal processing, sensors, computer vision, drone applications, and GPS-denied systems.
- Robust analytical skills and the ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data from experiments, simulations, and flight tests.
- Effective written and verbal communication for technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder interactions. Prior scientific writing experience is desirable.
- Training and facilitation skills to support bootcamps, workshops, and capacity-building activities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail and adherence to institutional procedures.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications, data analysis tools, and documentation practices. Hands-on experience in drone technologies is an added advantage.

Position Details

- Fellowship: ₹30,000 per month
