Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a PCB Engineer located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The candidate will be responsible for PCB design, assembly, testing, hardware integration, sensor interfacing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems used in maritime, port, and industrial applications.

The role requires hands-on experience in PCB development, including schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, soldering, board bring-up, testing, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting. The candidate will work closely with embedded and engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy reliable electronic hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop PCB schematics and layouts for embedded and electronic systems
- Perform component selection, placement, routing, and PCB design
- Work with single-layer, double-layer, and multilayer PCB designs as required
- Provide hands-on support for PCB assembly, soldering, rework, and board bring-up
- Assemble and test prototype PCBs and electronic circuits
- Interface sensors, actuators, connectors, relays, and other electronic components
- Perform hardware testing, debugging, fault identification, and troubleshooting
- Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other electronic testing equipment
- Diagnose issues related to power supply, signal integrity, connectivity, and component failures
- Work with microcontrollers and embedded platforms for hardware integration
- Support communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and RS485




- Perform hardware validation and functional testing of PCB assemblies
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, Gerber files, schematics, PCB files, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with embedded firmware and system integration teams during development and testing
- Support prototype development, field testing, installation, and commissioning when required
- Follow appropriate grounding, shielding, EMI/EMC, and electrical safety practices

Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EEE), Embedded Systems, or related field (Mandatory)
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in PCB design and hardware development
- Hands-on experience in PCB designing, assembly, soldering, testing, and troubleshooting (Mandatory)
- Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits, and hardware systems
- Experience with PCB design software such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, OrCAD, or similar tools
- Knowledge of schematic design, PCB layout, routing, and multilayer PCB design
- Experience with hardware bring-up and debugging
- Hands-on experience using multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering station, DC power supply, and other testing equipment
- Experience with sensor interfacing and embedded hardware integration
- Familiarity with ESP32, Arduino, STM32, or similar microcontroller platforms is an added advantage
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and RS485
- Understanding of power supply, grounding, protection, and signal conditioning circuits
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, Gerber generation, and PCB assembly processes
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC and electrical safety practices is preferred
- Freshers with solid hands-on PCB projects, prototyping, and hardware development experience may also apply
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams
