Our online pharmacy enables customers to upload prescriptions, get them reviewed by a qualified pharmacist, and receive medicines through our pharmacy network.
Job OverviewWe are looking for a Pharmacist with 0–2 years of experience to join our Online Pharmacy team. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing and validating customer-uploaded prescriptions, ensuring medication details are correctly interpreted, coordinating with partner pharmacies, and supporting the secure and compliant fulfilment of medicine orders.
The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, good knowledge of medicines and prescriptions, and a responsible approach toward patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Prescription Review & Verification
- Review prescriptions uploaded by customers through the Medivoy platform.
- Verify prescription details including medicine name, strength, dosage form, dosage, frequency, quantity, and duration wherever specified.
- Check prescription validity and completeness.
- Identify unclear, incomplete, expired, or potentially inappropriate prescriptions and escalate them appropriately.
- Ensure prescription medicines are processed only after appropriate pharmacist verification.
- Coordinate with customers or the relevant healthcare professional when clarification is required.
Pharmacy Operations
- Review and process pharmacy orders assigned through the Medivoy system.
- Coordinate with partner pharmacists/pharmacies for prescription validation and fulfilment.
- Maintain accurate prescription and order-related records.
- Ensure proper documentation of pharmacist verification and order status.
- Assist in resolving prescription, medicine availability, and order-related issues.
Compliance & Patient Safety
- Follow applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient prescriptions and personal/health information.
- Follow MediVoy's internal SOPs for prescription handling, verification, escalation, and documentation.
- Escalate suspicious, forged, altered, or potentially unsafe prescriptions according to company procedures.
- Support audits and compliance activities related to the online pharmacy.
Requirements
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid pharmacist registration with the relevant State Pharmacy Council, where applicable.
- 0–2 years of experience in retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, online pharmacy, or prescription processing.
- Good knowledge of commonly prescribed medicines and dosage forms.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret prescriptions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Basic computer and digital-platform skills.
- Ability to work with pharmacy/order-management software.
- Willingness to work in a technology-driven online pharmacy environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with online/e-pharmacy operations.
- Experience in prescription verification.
- Understanding of prescription-only medicines and applicable pharmacy regulations.
- Familiarity with digital prescription and patient-management platforms.
- Good Tamil and English communication skills would be an advantage.
