Job Title: Oracle Configurator Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Configurator Consultant to support the migration and implementation of product configuration capabilities in Oracle E-Business Suite R12.

The consultant will translate approved functional and technical specifications into maintainable Oracle Configurator models, rules, user interfaces, integrations, and supporting documentation.

The consultant will serve as the technical implementation owner for assigned Oracle Configurator deliverables and collaborate with functional and technical leads, business stakeholders, data-conversion teams, and distributed delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain Oracle Configurator models, including model items, option classes, features, options, defaults, compatibility rules, validation rules, and guided-selling logic.
- Develop and troubleshoot configuration logic using Oracle Configurator Developer, Rule Templates, CDL, and Configurator Extensions.
- Design and maintain Configurator user interfaces supporting quoting and order-entry processes.
- Integrate and validate Oracle Configurator with Inventory, BOM, Engineering, Order Management, Quoting, Advanced Pricing, WIP, Routings, and Planning.
- Validate configured-item creation, BOM/routing selection, order booking, pricing, lead-time/promised-date behavior, work-order generation, shipment, and costing.
- Use SQL and PL/SQL for configuration-data analysis, conversion validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.




- Support legacy-to-Oracle configuration-data migration, including items, option classes, component relationships, quantities, routings, pricing inputs, and configuration rules.
- Develop technical configuration documents, build records, rule documentation, test evidence, deployment instructions, defect-resolution documentation, and support runbooks.
- Develop and execute test scenarios covering Unit Testing, SIT, CRP, Regression Testing, and UAT.
- Support production cutover, stabilization, deployment, and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams and proactively communicate risks, dependencies, and implementation issues.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Configurator experience in Oracle E-Business Suite R12.
- Strong experience across the Oracle Configurator lifecycle, including model design, rule development, UI development, testing, publication, deployment, and production support.




- Experience migrating or converting product configuration capabilities from a legacy ERP or rules-based platform to Oracle Configurator.
- Strong experience with Oracle Configurator Developer, Rule Templates, CDL, Configurator Extensions, and Configurator UI development.
- Strong understanding of Assemble-to-Order (ATO) and Pick-to-Order (PTO) model design.
- Solid understanding of Oracle Inventory, BOM, Engineering, Order Management, WIP, Routings, Quoting, and Advanced Pricing integration.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Working knowledge of Java for Configurator Extensions.
- Ability to interpret functional/technical specifications and implement complex engineering, manufacturing, and commercial rules.
- Experience creating technical documentation, test evidence, deployment documentation, and support materials.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 experience.
- Oracle Configurator integration with Oracle Quoting and Order Management.
- Experience designing complex, nested, or highly constrained ATO/PTO models.
- Experience validating sourcing, costing, routing, lead-time, and manufacturing outcomes.
- Experience with Oracle APIs, Open Interfaces, Web ADI, or controlled data-loading approaches.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, engineered-to-order, or configurable-product environments.
- Experience working with formal testing, change management, documentation, and deployment processes.
- Experience collaborating with onshore and offshore teams across time zones.
