Role Description The NACE CIP Level 1 Inspector is a full time, on-site role based in Chennai. This position is responsible for monitoring surface preparation and coating application activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting visual inspections, verifying environmental conditions, checking surface cleanliness and profile, and documenting all inspection results in detailed reports.

The inspector will coordinate with project supervisors, applicators, and client representatives, raise non-conformances when necessary, and follow up on corrective actions.



The role also involves maintaining inspection equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and supporting continuous improvement of coating quality and technical service delivery.

Qualifications

- Valid NACE CIP Level 1 certification with strong knowledge of coating inspection principles and industry standards.
- Experience in marine, offshore, or industrial protective coatings environments, including surface preparation and application processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, coating data sheets, and project documentation.
- Strong skills in inspection reporting, documentation, and use of basic inspection instruments (e.g., DFT gauges, surface profile gauges, environmental monitoring tools).
- Commitment to safety practices and familiarity with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to interact with clients, contractors, and internal teams on-site.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and capacity to work in demanding outdoor and industrial environments.
- High school diploma or technical certificate required; additional training in corrosion, materials, or engineering is an advantage.
