Role Description The Medical Coder – Surgery role is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. The individual in this role will review surgical charts, operative reports, and related clinical documentation to assign accurate and compliant medical codes for procedures and services.

Responsibilities include validating documentation for completeness, applying appropriate coding guidelines and payer-specific rules, and working closely with clinical and billing teams to clarify information as needed.

Coder – Surgery will help reduce denials and support revenue cycle efficiency by ensuring timely, precise coding and assisting with coding-related audits or quality checks. This role requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to meet productivity and accuracy targets.

Qualifications

- Coding Experience and Medical Coding skills in surgical specialties, with familiarity in relevant coding systems and guidelines.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately interpret surgical procedures and clinical documentation.
- Background in Health Information Management and RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or equivalent certification, preferred.
- Strong analytical, documentation review, and quality assurance skills, with a focus on compliance and accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site in Current Delhi, meet productivity benchmarks, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Prior experience in revenue cycle management, denials reduction, or surgery-related coding is highly beneficial.
- Relevant diploma or degree in health information management, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
