Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and cutting-edge Design Engineer with hands-on experience in SolidWorks, CAD, and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design. The candidate will be responsible for designing machine components, creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings, and supporting the development of customized automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), fixtures, jigs, and automation systems.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare 2D drawings using AutoCAD or other CAD software.
- Generate BOM (Bill of Materials) and documentation for manufacturing.
- Modify existing designs based on customer requirements and engineering changes.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Support prototype development, testing, and machine commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Maintain design documentation and revision records.
Technical Skills Required:
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Drawing modules).
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Experience in SPM (Special Purpose Machine) Design.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerancing, and engineering drawing standards.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
