Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop plumbing systems for building projects, including domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, stormwater drainage, hot water, gas distribution, and other associated systems.
- Perform plumbing design calculations including pipe sizing, flow requirements, water demand, drainage calculations, and equipment sizing as required.
- Develop detailed plumbing layouts, schematics, and design drawings, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Select and size appropriate plumbing equipment, fixtures, pumps, tanks, valves, and other system components.
- Apply relevant international plumbing codes, standards, and design practices to develop safe, effective, and compliant plumbing systems.
- Develop and coordinate plumbing models using Revit within a BIM environment.
- Coordinate plumbing designs with Architecture, Structural, Electrical, HVAC, Landscape, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection and resolve design conflicts in collaboration with other disciplines.
- Prepare and review design calculations, technical specifications, drawings, quantity take-offs, BOQs, and other project documentation.
- Support project teams in addressing technical design issues, design changes, and coordination requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Incorporate sustainable plumbing design principles, water conservation measures, and energy-efficient solutions into projects.
- Support the design and delivery of projects targeting LEED and other green building certifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech.) from a recognized university.
