Service Technician – Job Description

Job Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing electric vehicles while ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of all assigned jobs.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform vehicle diagnosis, inspection, servicing, and repairs as per company standards.

- Identify electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software-related issues in EVs.

- Carry out periodic maintenance and preventive service as per the recommended schedule.

- Diagnose and repair issues related to battery, motor, controller, wiring, sensors, charging systems, brakes, suspension, and other vehicle components.

- Follow proper troubleshooting procedures and use diagnostic tools/equipment effectively.

- Complete all assigned job cards within the committed turnaround time.

- Ensure proper PDI and final quality inspection before vehicle delivery.

- Follow all EV safety procedures, especially while handling high-voltage systems and battery components.

- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of tools, equipment, and customer vehicles.

- Record accurate technical details, repair activities, parts replaced, and observations in the job card/DMS.

- Coordinate with the Service Advisor and Floor In-charge regarding vehicle status, additional repairs, and technical concerns.





- Report repeated or major technical issues to the Service Manager immediately.

- Support warranty-related diagnosis and repair as per company guidelines.

- Ensure replaced parts are properly tagged and handed over as per warranty/company procedures.

- Assist in road tests and vehicle performance checks when required.

- Maintain productivity and quality targets assigned by the Service Manager.

- Follow workshop discipline, attendance requirements, safety standards, and company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related field preferred.

- Experience in automobile/EV service is preferred.

- Good knowledge of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.

- Basic knowledge of EV battery, motor, controller, and charging systems.

- Ability to diagnose problems and perform systematic troubleshooting.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet service turnaround times.

- Willingness to learn new EV technologies and company service procedures.
