Role Description The Textile Designer (Hand Embroidery Specialist) will design and develop hand embroidery concepts and patterns for high fashion evening wear and home furnishing products. This full time, on-site role in Kolkata involves creating detailed design layouts, selecting suitable fabrics and materials, and coordinating with sampling and production teams to ensure accurate execution of embroidery designs. The role includes translating fashion trends and client requirements into innovative textile and embroidery solutions, preparing design boards and technical specifications,



and collaborating with merchandisers and quality teams to maintain design consistency and production feasibility.

The specialist will also support continuous improvement of design processes and contribute creative input to seasonal collections.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Embroidery, particularly hand embroidery techniques, stitch variations, and surface ornamentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Textile Prints and Textiles, including fabric knowledge, print development, and understanding of textile structures.
- Candidates should possess skills in Graphics and Graphic Design, including pattern creation, motif development, and use of design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Relevant experience in textile or fashion design, especially in high fashion evening wear and home furnishings, is beneficial.
- A diploma or degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Attention to detail, color and composition sense, and the ability to convert design concepts into production-ready artwork are essential.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with design, merchandising, and production teams, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
