About StandIn

We accompany elderly patients to hospital and doctor visits when their families live elsewhere, and send the family a explicit written record afterwards. We are starting in Kolkata in January 2027.

The role

You go with the patient from home to the doctor, through diagnostics and the pharmacy, and back home. You listen carefully, note exactly what the doctor says, and write it up for the family the same day.

What you will do:

- Meet the patient at home and accompany them for the full visit.
- Help with registration, queues, test collection and reports.
- Note the doctor's instructions, prescriptions and next steps accurately, in the patient's own words and the doctor's.
- Send the visit summary and take part in the family follow-up call.
- Visit the pharmacy the family chooses, with their written approval, and keep the bill.
- Report any safety concern or emergency to the founders immediately.

What you will not do:

You do not give medical advice, change or suggest medicines, make substitution decisions, or provide nursing care. You accompany, observe and report.

Who we are looking for

- B.Sc Nursing or GNM graduate, batch of 2026.

- Looking for your first work experience.
- Clear spoken English, Bengali and Hindi.
- Patient and respectful with elderly people.
- Accurate note-taker; comfortable with a smartphone and WhatsApp.
- Willing to travel within Kolkata.
- Ready to undergo a background verification (ID, court record and address) before you start.

What we offer:

- 6-month internship starting January 2027.
- Stipend: ₹8,000 per month.
- Working pattern: 26 days a month, on a rotating schedule.
- Hands-on patient-facing and care-coordination experience at a start-up.
- Performance-based PPO at the end of six months. Terms will be shared at the offer stage.
- Internship completion letter and a reference for those who complete.

How we decide on the PPO:

Accuracy of visit summaries, punctuality, family feedback, and following the safety and privacy rules.

How to apply:

- Send your CV and a short note on why you want this role to [email protected] / [email protected] Shortlisted candidates will have a short call and a short practical exercise.
