GSSN is looking for an experienced Head – Projects & Operations to lead the execution, engineering oversight and operations of our growing renewable energy and power infrastructure portfolio.

This is a senior leadership and ownership role, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end execution of Utility-Scale Solar, PSS/Substation and Transmission/Evacuation Line projects
- Oversee O&M; of Solar Plants, PSS/Substations and Transmission infrastructure
- Provide strong technical oversight on system design, engineering, equipment specifications and component selection
- Review and challenge technical designs, BOQs, SLDs, equipment sizing/specifications and engineering proposals before execution
- Lead testing, commissioning, energisation and project handover
- Manage multiple projects, engineers, operators, contractors and sites simultaneously
- Own project planning, schedules, manpower deployment, quality, safety and execution performance
- Establish strong reporting, escalation, preventive-maintenance and operational systems
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, clients, consultants, OEMs and utilities
- Build and lead a disciplined and accountable Projects & Operations team

Technical Exposure Expected

Candidates should possess strong practical knowledge across:

- Utility-scale Solar PV systems and associated electrical infrastructure
- PSS/Substations, transformers, switchgear, protection, control, metering and SCADA
- HT/EHV transmission and evacuation systems
- Electrical system design and equipment/component selection
- Testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and O&M;
- BOQ and technical specification review
- Understanding of project cost, constructability,



reliability and lifecycle considerations when making engineering decisions

Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be a robust advantage.

The successful candidate should also have the ability and willingness to continuously develop expertise in BESS, energy storage, hybrid renewable systems and other emerging technologies as GSSN expands into recent areas of the renewable-energy industry.

What We’re Looking For

- Preferably 10–15+ years of relevant experience in power infrastructure / renewable-energy EPC
- Strong hands-on experience in project/site execution combined with sound engineering knowledge
- Experience with PSS/Substations, HT/EHV Transmission Lines and/or Utility-Scale Solar projects
- Proven ability to manage engineers, site teams, contractors and multiple projects
- Strong ownership, technical judgement, decision-making and people-management capabilities
- Ability to build systems and teams—not merely coordinate activities
- BE/B.Tech in Electrical/EEE preferred
- Willingness to travel extensively across project locations in Tamil Nadu
