We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect with expertise in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Container platforms in Linux-based environments to join our agile team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting solutions including but not limited to installation, configuration, integration and implementation of HPC technologies and enterprise-grade container orchestration platform.
We are looking for a person with very strong technical skills and a proven track record of designing and working with container platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift, SUSE Rancher, CNCF Kubernetes, HPC Schedulers such as Slurm or PBS Pro, HPC/AI Cluster management technologies such as HPCM or BCM and the ability to work in a agile customer-focused team that requires excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Candidate must have strong proficiency as a Solution Architect in at least three areas and proficiency in other areas.
- Design and architect scalable HPC and container platform solutions based on customer and business requirements.
- Own the solution lifecycle from requirement gathering and technical design through implementation and operations.
- Define platform roadmaps, scalability strategies and solution improvements.
- Support RFI/RFP responses and lead customer Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements.
- Act as a technical advisor to customers, translating complex requirements into effective solutions.
- Stay current with developments in HPC, Kubernetes, containers, cloud and security, and contribute to best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical and project teams for successful delivery.
- Mentor team members and contribute to technical knowledge-sharing and innovation.
Mandatory Skills
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in HPC and/or enterprise container platform projects, with Solution Architecture/design experience.
- Strong Linux System Administration experience, including package management, boot/troubleshooting, performance optimization and networking.
- Hands-on HPC experience — this should be explicitly mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with HPC workload schedulers: Slurm and/or Altair PBS Pro.
- Hands-on experience with HPC cluster management tools: HPCM and/or Bright Cluster Manager (BCM).
- Strong containerization experience with Docker, Singularity and/or Podman.
- Hands-on experience with at least TWO container orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, SUSE Rancher RKE/K3S, Canonical Charmed Kubernetes or HPE Ezmeral Runtime.
- Strong experience in solution architecture/design, including requirement gathering, technical feasibility assessment, solution design and end-to-end implementation.
- Experience with customer-facing technical discussions and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with RFI/RFP technical responses and/or Proof of Concept (PoC) activities.
- Bash or Python scripting knowledge.
- Strong understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, routing and load balancing, plus protocols such as NFS/S3/FTP/SMB/CIFS.
Mandatory: HPC, Linux, Slurm/PBS Pro, HPCM/Bright Cluster Manager, Kubernetes/Container Platforms, Docker/Podman/Singularity, Solution Architecture & Design, Bash/Python, Networking, RFI/RFP/PoC and customer-facing solution experience.
Good to Have: OpenStack, KVM/OpenShift Virtualization, NVIDIA GPU/vGPU, InfiniBand/Mellanox, HPC performance optimization, multiple Linux distributions (RHEL/SLES/Ubuntu/Debian), microservices, CI/CD & DevOps tools, and relevant Red Hat/CNCF certifications.
