About Global Health Strategies (GHS)
GHS is an international health consulting organization that works to ensure the delivery of life-saving health products, technologies, and information to those who need them the most. We use policy research, advocacy, communications, program implementation, and market entry strategies to address health-related issues that disproportionately impact developing nations and emerging markets. In this endeavor, GHS partners with foundations, industry, NGOs, government agencies, and academic institutions.
Project Background
GHS has a mature infectious disease portfolio and focuses on TB, Malaria, Immunization, Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) and Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) in select states of India. Through this project, GHS aims to create an enabling environment and ecosystem for impact on these diseases by working closely with state decision-makers, technical experts, scientists, and implementing partners so that progress is maintained as per Government of India policies and programs.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
The Director will report to the Senior Director / Vice President based in New Delhi and serve as a member of the GHS India Management Team. The individual will be responsible for:
Government and stakeholder relationships
- Lead on engaging high-level leadership across Government, academia, clients and partners
- Manage external relations including the client, partner organizations and relevant stakeholders
- Provide strategic counsel to clients as requested and required
Project Management
- Oversee and track program activities and progress towards project goals and deliverables
- Track project expenditure in line with budget
- Lead and strategically contribute to external and internal meetings
- Approve final client products
Management and Leadership
As a member of the senior management team
- Manage the performance management process
- Responsible for staff development and mentoring of associates, senior associates and managers
- Responsible for greater cross-office collaboration (for both project and GHS-internal subjects)
Organizational management and business development
- Responsible for follow-on and renewal business
- Play an integral role in identifying and securing recent business opportunities
- Responsible for staffing, budgets and revenue plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Proven experience (at least 10-12 years) in a similar capacity with project management, stakeholder engagement in the field of infectious diseases, and strategic planning at the national level.
- Robust communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and stakeholders concurrently.
- Familiarity with public health issues, particularly in the field of infectious diseases would be advantageous.
