About the Role

Reservoir Group is seeking an experienced Coring Engineer on a consultancy basis to support our coring operations primarily across India.

This is a field-based operational role requiring travel to drilling and operational sites throughout India as required. While India will be the primary area of responsibility, the successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel and work across MEAPAC and other international locations based on operational and business requirements.

The Coring Engineer will be responsible for the safe and effective execution of coring operations at the rig site, working closely with customer representatives, drilling rig personnel, and other field personnel to ensure that the correct coring parameters, procedures, and operational practices are followed.

The role also provides technical feedback on completed operations and recommendations to support continuous improvement of coring equipment, products, and operational practices.

The position reports directly to the Operations Coordinator, with functional reporting to the respective Area Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform and oversee rig-site coring operations, including conventional and wireline coring activities.
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day coring performance and ensure the correct coring protocols, operating parameters, and procedures are followed.
- Liaise professionally with customer representatives, drilling rig personnel, Rig Geologists, and other site personnel.
- Provide daily operational updates and reports to Coring Operations as required.




- Compile and review coring performance data for End of Well Reports of the completed jobs.
- Prepare accurate technical, operational, and customer reports, including required entries in Insight.
- Perform servicing, maintenance, inspection, and preparation of coring and related downhole equipment.
- Prepare equipment and project supplies for mobilization and coordinate loading, logistics, documentation, and customs clearance when required.
- Manage stocking and restocking of operational equipment and supplies as applicable.
- Comply fully with Company QHSE standards and all customer/rig-site HSE requirements.
- Undertake Field Technician duties when operationally required.
- Follow operational directions provided by the Rig Geologist and relevant management.
- Support, mentor, and train current or less-experienced employees as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all customers, projects, equipment, and operations.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions within operational and maintenance work areas.
- Perform other duties related to projects and day-to-day operations as reasonably required by management or customers.

Qualifications

- Minimum 4 years of hands-on coring experience, including rig-site coring operations.
- Related experience servicing and operating down hole tools considered an asset.
- Education in geology or petroleum engineering an asset but not mandatory.
- Good technical/ logistical reporting and documentation skills are considered critical requirement.
- Required to work primarily within India and in other locations globally, as required.
- Required to complete periodical H2S, BOSIET, QHSE trainings/courses etc.
