Position Summary The Coach/Assistant Coach will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering systematic sport-specific training sessions for youth athletes under HCLFoundation's Sports for Change Program in Nagpur. The incumbent will work closely with HCLFoundation, Nagpur Municipal Cooperation and training partners to identify, develop, and nurture talented athletes while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-performance training environment.
The role requires a robust commitment towards grassroots sports development, athlete welfare, skill enhancement, and participation in district, state, and national competitions.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Athlete Development
- Design and conduct structured daily training sessions in accordance with sport-specific requirements.
- Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly training plans for athlete progression.
- Assess athletes' technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development.
- Identify promising talent and provide focused training for competitive excellence.
- Prepare athletes for District, State, National, and Federation-recognized competitions.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, punctuality, and athlete engagement throughout the training program.
- Ensure athlete development pathways are aligned with long-term performance goals.
Monitoring & Reporting Maintain regular records of athlete attendance, performance, fitness assessments, and competition participation.
Submit periodic progress reports and training updates to HCLFoundation.
Track athlete achievements, milestones, and competition results.
Assist in data collection,
documentation, and impact reporting requirements.
Competition & Event Management
Support athlete participation in competitions, selection of trials, and championships.
Coordinate with sports associations, academies, and governing bodies whenever required.
Assist in organizing assessments, internal competitions, and talent identification trials.
Ensure athletes are competition-ready through structured preparation and performance evaluation.
Safety & Athlete Welfare
Promote safe training practices and injury prevention protocols.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and training facilities.
Encourage sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and ethical sporting behavior.
Create an inclusive and motivating environment for all athletes.
Maintain child safeguarding and welfare standards throughout the program.
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with HCLFoundation program staff, schools, parents, and local stakeholders.
Participate in review meetings, capacity-building workshops, and program events.
Support community outreach and athlete mobilization activities.
Assist in promoting participation of local youth in structured sports development programs.
Eligibility Criteria
Residency
Candidate must preferably be based in Nagpur or willing to relocate and work in Nagpur.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in physical education (B.P.Ed.), Master's degree in physical education (M.P.Ed.), Sports Coaching, Sports Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
