Role Description -
Build Medicon into a scalable, profitable, technology-enabled healthcare claims and revenue-cycle business. Lead institutional fundraising and the strategy for a potential Indian IPO, while evaluating acquisitions, strategic partnerships and a partial or full company sale when these best serve the Board’s objectives. An IPO is a strategic objective, subject to readiness, eligibility, approvals and market conditions.
Key responsibilities· Own a three-to-five-year business plan, annual budget, revenue growth, profitability, cash generation and enterprise value creation.
· Lead equity fundraising from private equity, venture/growth capital, family offices and strategic investors; own investor targeting, investment narrative, presentations, negotiations and relationship management through transaction closure.
· Work with the CFO to define capital needs, use of proceeds, valuation expectations, dilution scenarios, governance rights and an appropriate balance of primary capital and shareholder liquidity.
· Lead IPO strategy and readiness with the CFO, Company Secretary, merchant bankers, legal counsel and auditors; oversee the equity story, management presentations, roadshows and public-company leadership preparation.
· Build repeatable hospital sales, account management and delivery models; expand hospital relationships and service adoption across regions while maintaining claims quality and client trust.
· Oversee pre-authorisation support, claim documentation, denial and appeal workflows, payment recovery, reconciliation and hospital empanelment; strengthen relationships across insurers, TPAs and relevant scheme administrators.
· Improve technology, workflow automation, analytics and hospital-system integration; establish measurable productivity, quality and service improvements with appropriate human review.
· Lead buy-side acquisitions from target screening through diligence, negotiation, completion and integration; evaluate capability, geographic and client-access synergies.
· Lead sell-side or strategic-investment processes, including buyer engagement, management presentations and negotiation of price, control, earn-outs and transition commitments with advisers.
· Build an accountable leadership team and strengthen succession, incentives, retention and operating cadence.
· Establish Board reporting, enterprise risk oversight, ethical claims practices, patient-data protection and business continuity with specialist advisers; validate the regulatory scope of each service.
· Represent Medicon with investors, hospital executives, strategic partners and industry stakeholders.
Required experience and qualifications
· Typically 18+ years of progressive leadership experience, including at least five years as CEO, business head, COO or equivalent with substantial P&L; accountability. Assess equivalent achievement-based profiles.
· Demonstrated leadership in healthcare RCM, claims services, health-benefits administration, healthtech or closely related technology-enabled healthcare services, with working knowledge of India’s hospital and payer ecosystem.
· Personally led at least one completed institutional equity fundraising transaction from investor engagement to funds receipt; advisory-only or introduction-only experience is insufficient.
· Material leadership responsibility in at least one completed Indian IPO through listing, with specific ownership of business readiness, investor narrative or management roadshows. Candidates must identify the issuer, exchange, date and their role.
· Hands-on experience in completed M&A; or a strategic company sale, including diligence, negotiation and completion; post-acquisition integration experience strongly preferred.
· Ability to scale a founder-led business, build management depth and improve profitability, working capital and governance.
· Graduate degree required; MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.
Preferred experience
· Indian hospital-side claims/recovery operations and exposure to CGHS, ECHS, ESIC, Ayushman Bharat or other applicable reimbursement schemes.
· Leadership in PE-backed or listed businesses and relationships with healthcare investors, merchant bankers and strategic acquirers.
· Experience turning manual services into scalable technology-enabled delivery without weakening controls.
· Experience with both capital raises for company growth and transactions providing shareholder liquidity.
Expected first-year outcomes
· First 90 days: complete business and capital-readiness assessment; establish a reliable operating baseline; present a Board-approved growth, capital and transaction roadmap.
· By six months: launch a qualified investor process; improve repeatable sales and delivery; agree IPO readiness gaps, owners, adviser needs and realistic milestones.
· By 12 months: advance the approved financing or strategic transaction toward closure; demonstrate progress in revenue quality, contribution margins, cash conversion, retention and operational performance.
· Transaction amounts, valuation expectations, listing date and KPI improvement targets will be agreed with the Board after the baseline assessment.
